First time getting my hands dirty on a window and with great success!
Awesome video, thanks for the help!

1A Auto Parts says:

If there are cables on the regulator, see if the cables are jammed causing
the window not to come down. If they are you would need to free them up, so
that you can access the bolts. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com.

Help!!! Everything taken apart, but cannot get the window to come down to
remove the regulator. How can I manually get the window down?

This is a very good video. I had a stripped gear on my regulator on my 02
Land Rover Disco II and I was dreading doing this in part due to the
exorbitant replacement costs for parts or anything I would have broken due
to my ignorance, but with this starting point, I was able to swap it out in
less than hour, which is pretty good given my limited mechanical
experience. You have my thanks. =)

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Alan, You may want to test the power to the window motor with a test
light or an ohm meter to see if there’s power to it. If there is, more than
likely the motor has gone bad. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com

Great video. Saved a lot of money, too.

1A Auto Parts says:

Normally the adhesive that is on the plastic should be sufficient enough
for the plastic to be put back on. They normally retain its ability to
stick after being removed.

Michael Coxe says:

I just wanted to Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video.
You have saved a family from alot of friction. Some people like to think
they can do things–only to find that they need help but dont ask. After
watching this, I took 5 minutes to settle a family dispute. The world is
now a bette place and all concerned are happy again. You have done a great
service and it is very refreshing to know somepeople still think of others
!!!

gotmituns says:

Thank you, it helped very well

Mike Hutchison says:

Ty for regulator assembly and video saved me hundreds!!!

Drew Paddock says:

Great video. I do have a question though. On my ’99 Camry, what about the
rear doors? It seems there are some subtle differences. My son was putting
the rear right window up and down and up and down and something broke. I
took the door apart and got to the power window assembly. It feels like
there is a bolt(?) that has broken off inside of the door frame. Do you
know what this part might be? Motor and regulator seem to be working fine.
Thanks.

kpoku0 says:

I feel like an idiot. My problem is with the right rear door and I couldn’t
even get the interior handle off. The more I tried the more I scratched and
damaged the plastic. Please help! I have a 2000 Camry.

CoollllCat says:

Another question. You mention in the video that the it’s best to lower the
window to a point where you can better access the screw holes. In my
situation the regulator is completely non-functional and the window is all
the way up. Any suggestions?

Thanks for sharing your expertise. Just repaired the window motor unit in
my 1998 Sienna using the methods and information in this video…saving
myself 550 bucks that the Toyota dealership wanted to perform the same work.

Bob Marley says:

I wanted to thank you for making this video! I ordered the motor, as well
as that blue magnet tray from you. I had never done it before, and it only
took about 1 hour. I saved $168 in labor because of this video. I had it
playing on my iPhone while working. Thanks again for everything, well done!

Sarah Brooks says:

I just wanna thank you guys for your excellent videos. I bought a rebuilt
98 Camry, and without you guys I would have ended up junking it!

Acteam Milan says:

Hello i have the same problem but in the driver door, it’s the same way to
do’t or it’s more difficult? Thank you

1A Auto Parts says:

You shouldn’t really have to for this particular repair. If you want to you
can remove the negative battery cable first before making the repair.

Allen K says:

I ordered the Regulator and completed the job in 1 1/2 hours. Part fit
great and the videos helped. Thanks!

Norm Goldblatt says:

What a great video. I’m pretty handy, but without these videos, I wouldn’t
have been able to take the panel off or remember which way the regulator
went back in. I heard art galleries secure their paintings on the wall
against theft using the same techniques!

AnimeNex says:

Can you use different window regulators for certain cars? I have a 92 Lexus
SC400 and to get the window regulator for that is around $100+. Is there
any way to avoid spending that much or does it need to be the regulator for
that car (specifically)?

1A Auto Parts says:

@tssk We currently do not have a video that shows the rear window regulator
repair on a 97-01 Toyota Camry. The basics should be fairly similar though.
You would need to take the door panel off, and tape the window in the up
position, then remove the regulator. We carry the replacement ones on our
website. Here’s a link to them.

When reinstalling the door plastic cover there is no need to use adhesive
to glue it back on the door? Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular repair.
If there’s a bezel around the handle you may want to remove it, and
anything else holding the door panel on. You may or may not need to remove
the door handle to get the door panel off of the door.

1A Auto Parts says:

@AnimeNex it would need to be specific to that vehicle. The window
regulators are all different.
