I'm the guy he mentioned in the video. If you buy this product, after pairing you can update the firmware. I did that on the first unit, and I think that may have possibly been the cause of my problem. The company says to only update if you're having issues.
I never tried it before the update, it may have worked fine. I figured newer was better. I never updated the second one, and it works very well.

Thanks, Car Care Nut! You’re a thorough guy whose videos and opinion I trust, I bought one of these. I love the thing! I appreciate your effort making these great videos! The work you put into these is obvious! Well done!

Hey AMD I looked at this and it says it only goes to 2020 I have a 2021 Tacoma and wanted to make sure it worked on it

RKGSD says:

I heard there are technical reasons as to why there's been no factory-equipped wireless CarPlay. Now I wonder if it's more about cost. If Hyundai can factory equip various vehicles with wireless, Toyota can.

What I'm having trouble with is my Alexa app. I got everything else working but when using the Alexa app, the app says connect Bluetooth and it sits and loads and never gets past that screen. 2022 Corolla Hybrid..

John Cornellier says:

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if Toyota will add Android Auto to existing CarPlay-only systems? It's just software, right? They did retrofit CarPlay on models with touch screens a while back.

I can’t wait for you to do a review on the comma ai.

Patrick Keiser says:

I have a 2021 Toyota Rav4 XLE Premium Hybrid AWD. Outside temperatures last night were at minus 25 degrees not including the wind chill. I started my car up this morning and I noticed that the exhaust was dark colored for about 10 seconds or so before clearing up. Vehicle has only 2800 miles on it. Is this some fluke event or is something wrong with the car?

DEVILTAZ35 says:

You need to put in the heading (for factory Car play only) . As it is very misleading otherwise. I had to get aftermarket for mine as they didn't retrofit 2016 model year.

Jesus Perez says:

The real question is: How can you get Apple carplay on old (2014-2019) Toyotas or Lexus?
