Didn't even check slider pins?
There are specific torque specifications for those bolts! But you choose to use “Nice and tight, just right” method. Why do you think engineers give you torque values to work with? SO THE WHOLE BRAKE ASSEMBLY DOES NOT FALL OFF AND CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT DUE TO CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE! Get the picture! Get me!
Ops! The bolt size was so small I missed it. It’s still a poor video.
Just a tip if you was to do it by the manufacturers way you would unscrew the bleed nipple with a plastic pipe into a bottle then push the Piston back to prevent any chance of any seals flipping over, then tighten the nipple. Also slight grease on the brake pads. Check the slides are free, apart from that good routine. Use a wire brush to clean the disc if it's the old disc, if it's a new disc use brake cleaner to degrease the surfaces, before you mount the steel wheel. Torque the wheels up and pump the brake pedal before driving off and check the brake fluid reservoir and top up.
No cleaning?? Piston funktion?? Its no profesional work….
Sir how much for complete brake kit for this video
In relation to the handbrake brake pads, what is the wear indication guidelines? Thanks
Thanks for the video. By the way, what is the torque wrench setting for the two caliper retaining bolts? Are they 13mm or 14mm bolts?
What the size for caliper
6:15 Dent the brake calliper piston with the help of a special device. What is it called?
It looks professional work but it wasn't at all I mean I can do much better job then this guy he didn't even rub down the grace off the discs with brake cleaner and so no lubrication around the brake pads sides and the pins no cleaning methods used to remove dust around the surface of clipper. Just a cheap work done by professional looking mechanic.
What are you doing at 3:20 to 3:40 ?
That spring wont budge
The procedure did not show the required lubrication of the slide pins (2) or the required lubrication at the friction points (4), where each pad contacts the anchor bracket.
All the corollas I do have rounded carrier bolts!
is the handbrake ON or OFF during the disk change?
No cleaning of new disc and no lubricants or thread lock needed?
dont forget to look into bleeding your brakes you dont want to drive off and have no pressure in the lines
can you tell me what is the PN of the rotor disk and shoes? 4 Holls
Thanks, this will be super helpful tomorrow!
Thanks. It was the trick at 3:20/3:40 that i needed to know.
