How I Maintain my V8 Toyota Pickup!

How I Maintain my V8 Toyota Pickup!

This week we tackle odd jobs around my 1989 Toyota Pickup that I have been putting off for a while. How to replace Tie Rods, Front Wheel Bearings, and Rear Wheel Bearings WITHOUT a press! And find some surprise parts I also needed to replace. What can I say? I said this truck was neglected while building our 1996 Toyota 4Runner!

I have a full float rv axle in the back of my toyota

Michael Keefer says:

While I'm not a ford fan, a coyote motor in my 84Toyota pickup would liven things up a bit.

DirtTales says:

I stopped wasting my time with the store bought stuff after my last Moog set failed prematurely. You can get Sankei 555 parts from Napa though which are made in Japan! That or OEM..

Matty Grahamzy says:

Just realized my tie rods on my 89 pick up were bad yesterday

Jason Explains Things says:

Your brake woes remind me of when I rebuilt them on my Old Dodge Ram. I replaced everything (front rotors, pads, rear drums, rear pads, wheel cylinders, springs, bearings all around). Adjusted everything and went for a test drive/seat the pads and I could barely stop. I was pretty new working on it and got freaked out so I sent it to a shop. They found that my original front calipers, master cylinder and brake booster were all bad. An unexpected $900 later and I had ALL new brakes. 😀

Phil Foote says:

So good I just done the same shit
Fun times not

Jordan Lynch says:

Can your rear end bearing method be applied to other toyotas, 1st gen tacos and 2nd 3rd gen runners? Nice homemade tool.

DurtySGaming says:

Disk brake conversion coming soon

Randy Johnson says:

You need better lighting but other then that great content…

Jason Explains Things says:

LOL… trying to loosen that that crazy tight nut had me backing up from the screen.

Ak K says:

damn how cold does it get there?
im in socal, so its always above freezing here. just some summer days are over 100.

Nick Crill says:

I’m shocked you do wheel bearings once a year. I don’t do any hard core wheeling with my ifs 86 4Runner but my wheel bearings are original and still work fine 299k miles
