You have to do that to pass smog in California… which is why I moved away. I just deleted all that stuff including the catalytic converter on my rigs.

I fear the juice of the capacitor went through the pertinax (I don't know the English name of this PCB material) board. But that just sad that some cares will end up broken cause of this stuff.
And low resolution shorts like this is fine unless you play it on a 60" tv.

Have you tried using Wires Adhesive to repair the tracks that went open circuit. Wires Adhesive is a conductive adhesive.
