What was the name of the air pump that works off of the battery?
Way back when I had an old 1970s Toyota Celica that would need to have the brakes bled frequently when it was cold. Since I lived out in the country back then it got to the point where I worked out a way so I could bleed the brakes myself. I would pump them up, put 2 30-lb weights on the brake pedal, get out of the car, open the valve, and then repeat. A real pain but it worked when I needed it to.
Instead of relying solely on a battery the use of energy generated piezoelectricly as the tire rotates might last a lot longer.
Lovely video Scotty
Why is I that women in Tennessee have no teeth?
Can't Scotty just deactivate the warning lights with his fancy car computer ? -_-
I don't like the aftermarket stem cap units. They always leak.
My dad had the same problem on his '98 Honda CR-V just a week ago. Only cost him $150 to get fixed. Wait 'til he finds out the damn things need battery replacements. Me?; I'll stick w/ my newly acquired '99 Civic…..without a monitoring system. Thankfully. LESS…..is more.
Tpms is like making an electric coffee mug. Redicilous
Older TPMS used the 4 ABS speed sensor on the car. the bearing sends a pulse to the sensor to indicate the wheel speed. if one of the tire has less air, when the car going on a straight line, that tire spins less than the tire has full air. this tire is the "smaller" one than other tires. therefore the computer knows and lights up the TPMS light.
Where did you get the air pump please let me know?
I had to chuckle a bit when the siren invaded the background audio.
Why not just kick the tyres every now and again? It’ll let you know if your tyres need pumping and also if the car is in good shape or not.
I always carry a pump
Scotty moved to Tennessee and he already has lots of costumers. Amazing. I had an ‘06 tC 5?speed back in ‘06. What a fun little car that was.
Those TPMS sensors sound really expensive. My father had 2008 Cadilliac DTS. He ordered GM replacement sensors from a online GM parts dealer. For all 4 sensors cost less than $100.00 & another $100.00 at a tire shop to have them replaced.
Ok… this oem.. 50 bucks each.. not a small fortune
My girlfriend just bought a 21 Chevy Malibu with 2 miles on the thing and with in a week of owning the car tire pressure sensor came on for rear passenger tire. Scotty's right JUNK !!!!
I have never. EVER paid for air at a gas station. I was shocked to hear my friends always pay the dollar 25 or whatever price. I simply ask the clerk inside and they turn it on or give a code. Regardless, carry a gauge.
