Thanks for the video. I just spent the last 3 hours trying to fix the back passenger’s side window on a 2001 highlander. I replaced the motor and I cannot get the window aligned properly. The little plastic square of the regulator keeps coming out of the track – It looks like there is no way to align it so it stays in that 12 inch track the whole way up and down. There must be a trick to this? The plastic square just rides freely in the track, doesn’t look like it was bolted or anything? Thanks!
thank you. try removing good switch from one side and testing the suspected bad switch at good window motor. to test the bad window motor, get a battery and connect directly to the window motor. if it is not working, also check if regulator is broken, bent or binding to anything. Great video, you’ve obviously done this many many times, I had to try to stop and pause quite a bit to see some things, but great video, trying to diagnose my driver window problem and it not working, along with the rear driver window, I was thinking both motors went or perhaps a switch.
you need to remove all the regulator bolts, it will drop down but be careful. you should have enough space to remove the 2 bolts holding the glass window. try that, it is one way I’ve done it before. or another way is to, remove the torx bolts holding the motor to the regulator. removing the motor will drop down the window.
How do you remove the window regulator when the window is all the way up? There is no way to lower it halfway.
