This video is spot on! The screw and bolt on the bottom are a bit of a pain
to get to, but otherwise it’s not too bad a job. Thanks so much for the
video! I was banging my head for a little while trying to figure out how to
get the glove box out.
You’re welcome. We’re glad this video helped!

It is far far easier to change the filter on the newer Avalons (2005-2010)
There is only one screw to remove. That one screw is on the side of the
open glove box.
Thank you for uploading this. I have the exact same car and this helped me
be able to change the filter myself.
On my 2006 Avalon I didn’t have to remove any screws, just pinch the sides
of the glove box towards to center to release it and it hangs down, then
you have full access to the filter. When putting the glove box back up make
sure the cylinder piece hanging down (don’t know what it is) on the right
side goes up in the hole otherwise the glove box won’t close more than half
way at it hits that. Literally to 3 minutes to replace the filter.
Looks, I was worried about Air Bag being on top of where Filter was; but
knew how to get at Filter, but it was blocked by not completely removing
Glove Box, but removing the correct three screws, now makes it easy to do
it myself – 2004 Toyota Avalon XLS Owner Thanks JLQ
