Suzuki Forenza Head Installation – Part 12 (Cleaning Intake)

Suzuki Forenza Head Installation – Part 12 (Cleaning Intake)

In this video, I decided to do a thorough cleaning of the intake manifold and the throttle body on a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. I give some pointers of what to clean and what not to clean. Thanks…

Thank you John for the comment and I’m glad that you like the video. When
you can’t completely turn the crank over and over, you more than likely
have bent valves. Probably what happened is when the water pump bearing
went, the belt jumped timed and then the valves went out of sync hitting
the pistons. More than likely just bent valves. Hopefully, your pistons are
okay. You’ll need to pull the head. It’s really a easy job. The camera is a
Panasonic HC-V700P and the software is Vegas Movie Studio

Sure John, I’ll take a look at your video and give you a comment. I’m glad
that the videos can help you out, and I appreciate the sub. When you do the
job John, just make sure that you take your time and don’t rush yourself.
Remember, follow my motto. Do the job once and do it right, and then you’re
done with it. Keep us posted John of your project. I’ll be interested to
hear how things go and if you have any questions, be sure to ask.

Thanks Terry. I Have watched all of your videos. I have 2 Chev Optra here
in Canada. My first 2004 chev Optra is leaking Antifreeze in 1 cylinder
producing white exhaust smoke. I know I must get the cylinder checked out
for a crack or wharp. They tell me that this car came with the antifreeze
like Gel and that is why I had no heat. I have 1 video up on changing the
heater core because the dealer would not do that.Big job. Check my video
out,bad lighting as I live in an apartment.

Very nice video Terry. Will be starting this job tomorrow. Waterpump
bearing came apart and the belt is okay. Must have shifted on the cams. If
the crank pully does not move clockwise a full revolution, could there be a
piston or valve problem? Also what camera are you using and video program
for conversion. Very nice quality. Thanks John

. Check my video out,bad lighting as I live in an apartment . Did this
underground parking. My second optra is where the belt slipped and the
crank will not turn full revolution. Thanks Terry, your videos help me out a
lot. Thanks for your time. I subscribed to you. Let you know what happens.

sorry its a dog, he is nice

I bought this second optra for parts. The lady said she was driving and
said the timing belt broke. I took it apart and found out the belt was okay
and I found a few ball bearings under the belt. The waterpump had a sloppy
play and was angled. This is probably why the timing belt slipped. I bought
a timing belt kit with the 2 idlers and tensioner. Also some tools that I
need like a torque ratchet and some mm wrenches that you suggest. Iam going
to buy punches to mark my cams.

Yes, our dog is a little American Eskimo who is a female. Her name is
Josephine, but we call her Josie for short. She’s a sweetie pie.

stuzman52 says:

Wow John, that’s a big accomplishment in itself watching all of those
videos (smiling). You probably just have a head gasket issue on the leaky
cylinder. However, be sure to make sure the head and block are true. And as
you may know, it’s a really good idea to keep the antifreeze changed
regularly. On my Forenza, I had some pitting on the head which needed
welded. Sure thing John, I’ll check your video out.

John, for the angle gauge that I used, I posted a link in the description
in the video for head install part 1 which is where I first used the tool.
You’ll need to pick up an angle gauge as there are quite a few bolts that
rely on an angle setting.

stuzman52 says:

Sounds good John that you’re going to fix that joker. While you’re buying
some tools, you might want to pick up an angle gauge also. The one that I
used from Lisle worked really well. I’ll put a link to it in the
description of this video. Also, if you watched one of my later videos,
(can’t remember which one), I mention that the cam caps actually had
markings on them. You can take a look on yours to see. My caps were so
cruddy, I didn’t see the factory numbers on them.
