Extremely helpful, and gave me a bit more confidence in repairing this issue. Bought two Chevy trackers for the price of one. One is 4×4 with this exact same oil leak. Could not find a lot of information online or manuals for repairing it.

Baffi says:

want to come take the top end off, and do a valve job on my h25a? lol

Hoho cc says:

Nice one, appreciate your filming this, cheers.

RotaryKiwi says:

hey ziggy good work, thinking of tackling this myself. why did you remove the front diff to take the motor out though? does it make it easier? cheers

Sam Foss says:

Hi Ziggy, I'm trying to change out the front crankshaft seal on the exact same engine, I don't need to completely disassemble the engine to do that do I? It's just being a real bugger to remove and I don't want to do any damage/ get broken seal in the sump. Cheers.

G Man says:

Zig you know your stuff and I enjoy your work….well done …. very professional… I'd have no drama having you work on any of my cars

Rusty Glovebox says:

Nicely done Zig. I've seen people just go nuts with that silicone sealant . Like you said you don't want that snapping off and ending up in the pump and bearings. Have a good one and Cheers mate

Peter Goodwin says:

Nice work mate as usual. Looks like a mate of mine worked on it, he used to pile the silicon on. Used to look terrible as well , have a good weekend mate.

Another one back down the road!

Just stuff With Wolfe says:

Can u fix a motor your self at home
Or do u need to go to a mechanic

The Wholls says:

Good job mate

There is a product called liquid intelligence stop leak which rejuvenate seals I’ve had very good experience with it

And that rear main took me back a few years when I was a teenager putting in a rope seal on the back of a 253 Holden red motor as you know shit job shit seal you cut em in half the modern stuff is much more integral.. 308 red motor was the same it was a real art to do the rear main on a stand

Fred Gonna says:

Is that a Renault engine..??lve seen a suzuki vitara with a Renault diesel engine !!

Pete says:

Great stuff Ziggy. Terrific job done by a decent pro.
Cheers
Pete

Badgertronix says:

Much better. Nice job Zig

MissouriOldTimer says:

another fine job, do you think you will work there pretty much on a full time basis?

closertothetruth says:

when you said the guy used the wrong sealant , does that mean some silicone sealants are kinda ordinary, i use three bond , permatex etc but like you say only use what is required a small bead or a thin smear depending on the application, i love the stuff zero leaks for years. my old boss refused to use silicon because of the damage hes seen mind you we were rebuilding large 2 stroke locomotive diesel engines, kinda expensive if shtf.
