It’s a good idea to change the throwout bearing and the clutch slave
cylinder while you’re in there.
You do superb work! Thank you for the video 🙂
You had to use a gear puller to get the 3 bearings off the shaft. So how
did you install the new bearings on the shaft? It seems the new bearings
would require an equal amount of pressure to get them in place.
Very helpful, thanks! I have the same issue with the Getrag 260 in my 1986
BMW and plan to replace bearings and needle roller.
I may need to look at the bearings in my manual gearbox for toyota hilux.
it seems a very big job.
Thank you so much for this video! I am having issues with 1st and 2nd gear
in my transmission. Its a 96 sidekick with 1.8l manual 4×4 and Im in the
process of dropping it off now. This video is going to help tons when I
actually go in to troubleshoot the issue. I was very nervous about digging
into a tranny, but now I can clearly see that this is not an unknowable
mechanisim. Good stuff, thanks! Steve
Good video. You took a lot of time to film and share your knowledge.
Respect!
can you change/replace the gears for a lower ratio gear?
