Two questions 1: how do can I get the block that clean from the inside ? I'm in the middle of starting a rebuild with parts from low range but I can't figure out how to get it that clean. 2: what paint do you guys use ? My block is sparkling clean but I would like that grey paint on mine as well . Thank you

reza wiriarsa says:

thank you. this help me.

BIGTAZ351 says:

IDK about the Japanese engines but almost all American engines main caps ARE torqued with oil on the threads… the sad thing is most people don't know that you get more/also more consistent "with" oil than dry, I disagree with Anti seize inside an engine, and prefer STP to "assy lube" I also put a very thin film of oil on the sides of the main caps where they slide into the block.

MadWeiner says:

Excellent video!

7A says:

that's a nice looking little motor. looks like it could take a bit of boost even with only 2 bolt caps. suzuki builds a good block, those old GS motors and Busa motors make a lot of hp with all thay boost and fuel, not gas, poured into them.
well done video. no shaky camera.

Brad V says:

I use a lot of assembly lube, or grease if I'm greasing something, but this is way overboard. Also I would have just used some regular "red and tacky" style grease on the thrust bearings. Anti seize is metallic.

970357ers says:

Assembly lube in the main cap bolt threads. Good luck getting an accurate torque with that!

970357ers says:

People treat bearing shells like jewels. They're made of metal FFS!
