You need to stick to your day job. That swivel pin and bracket supports the weight of the motor no matter how you choose to position the motor. Fully tilted on the tilt lock actually balances the weight of the powerhead over the transom causing the least amount of leverage on the transom when trailering.
Certified Yamaha mechanic here. I always recommend people to not transport and the bracket as Ive seen dozens break. I do not agree that is puts extra stress on the mid section but it will absolutely breal the bracket.
In the Yamaha user manual it states to use this bracket when trailering. It's literally labeled as a trailering bracket in the manual. And there is 100X more stress on the components of the transom assembly when the motor is at full throttle under way. Don't buy this useless product off the internet and don't listen to this guy

I've been towing my motor that way since 2007. So far no problems, but it's only a 50hp…i got a transom saver last month though. J i c

Been transporting trimmed down on that bracket for 24 years and still running strong LOL!

The engine is literally designed to trim up and down while 100+ HP is being shoved right into that bracket. I think it will be just fine
Transom saver is the only way to go. The service prop doesn't hurt the motor…but it does stress the transom as it goes bouncing down the road.
I used the service bracket for 20 years and didn't have any problems
