Worst Intake Install 2022 VB WRX

Worst Intake Install 2022 VB WRX

Decided it was time to upgrade the intake on the 2022 WRX Project thats totally supposed to stay a reliable and stock daily driver. Why would you install an intake one might ask? Typically to hear more turbo noises, but apparently these intakes do flow a little more than the stock ones, meaning your turbo can shove more air into the engine thus creating a little more power. I was a little underwhelmed by the turbo noises of this intake, but I’m wondinerig if that’s because the turbo sits so far away from the driver’s seat. I’m used the the Mk7 turbo that seats up high on the engine near the firewall closer to the drivers vs on the WRX down low by the splash pan up front by the bumper. Additionally, the WRX is a MAF based engine management system which means switching an intake can mess up the computer’s ability to properly calculate engine load/how much air is coming in because it is calibrated for the stock intake pipe. Looks like we’ll have to have a new calibration and no longer use the Cobb OTS stage 1 calibration.
