+nukem384 any forced induction gives better millage, you should’ve said
something like “300 HP car” not turbocharged car

RIck Ochoa says:

I have a squeak coming from my left front wheel, ounces I apply the brake
to stop it goes away, when I’m driving is when the squeak occurs. Any idea
what it might be? I have a 2006 stil also that’s why’s I’m asking lol
thanks man.

djmervizzzy says:

does this apply the same way in 2011 sti?

nukem384 says:

yeah the car is pretty reliable. ive taken it to the snow (about 190 miles
each way) so many times with no problems. maintenance on this car id say is
pretty average, nothing crazy you have to buy. altho the car mileage on the
car totally sucks. but expected when youre driving a turboed car, just keep
that in mind.

nukem384 says:

theres no mileage limit. it really depends on how you drive and how hard
you brake. you just have to look at them and determine if they are low or
not.

Joseph Garvey says:

And how many miles do you think your going to get with your sti? Mine is a
completely stock 04 with 70k on it

nukem384 says:

i usually change rotors when they start to warp. so theres not an exact
time frame. breaking in pads depends on how to pad manufacturer recommends.
id follow what they say for proper break in. dont worry about the old rotor
on new pads.

nukem384 says:

my car squeaked right off the dealership lot, never did stop. but maybe try
something a little bit thicker? like a brake lube? honestly if youve got
metal on metal rubbing, its going to be hard to stop permanently cause any
type of brake lube will wash off after a while. but try a thick lube, maybe
thatll help

Jesus I know brembo brakes were big but now I I have seen em close they
could stop a train

JesseFK says:

Thanks for this guide. I helped replace some brake pads on my brother’s
Brembos on his Lexus. I was surprised how easy it was. Do most pads come
with new shims? Or is it best just to use the factory ones?

David Lee says:

What about the rotors? I thought you suppose to resurface it or replace it
as well when you change the pads?

jesus1111yyy says:

Hey man im thinking about getting a 06 sti i wanna know if the car is
reliable. As they say it is ? And how much would i be spending on
maintenance? Thankx man your videos made me want one even more !

nukem384 says:

you can if you want. i dont usually do that though.

DONx3 says:

Do you have to add any grease between the shim and backing plate or
anywhere? Thanks.

nukem384 says:

thats only if they need to be changed. resurfacing rotors is a highly
debated topic. i personally dont resurface rotors because if they are
warped, resurfacing will temporarily mask the warped state. its better just
to buy new ones IMO.

nukem384 says:

it really depends on the pads you use. some do, some dont. i would use the
stock outside shim unless the pads come with their own outside shim.

Tyler Young says:

Thanks for the video. Liked the HD why is there still videos in SD on the
internet. Going to do the brakes on my 07 sti tonight. Thanks.

feddy69 says:

hey nukem. How often do you change your rotors? I don’t want to be changing
rotors every time I change my brakes. How do I wear new brakes in properly
on old rotors? Cheers mate

mike mun says:

nukem384 says:
