Will this be the same for a 95 subi SVX?

RobbyJHope says:

I think it's crazy how mechanics charge an average of $480 to do this on a Subaru Outback. Super accessible and does not take long at all.

One question what is the size of the bolt that is on top of the flange holding the ground cable, and where can I find the flange. In what store

Hi Mr Subaru, I own a H6, 5 speed Auto bpe (2004) outback, how hard is it to remove the solenoid from the starter motor ?? I'm having problems with it not turning the motor over intermittently, it just clicked and then it will work properly after 15 to 20 attempts, I've heard that it's the brushes in the solenoid, is it better to replace the brushes or just get a new starter motor ?? thanks for your help mate.

Can these starters be rebuilt, if so, can you do a video ? Have you rebuilt a Subaru starter? Thanks

Gardenian says:

Do the visible gears need to be greased on a new starter? Or even the internal ones?

Would u say that this video is kind of uniform if i wanted to change the starter on my 08 wrx?

William Johnson says:

Seems like you just put back the same starter that you took out.

Erik Back says:

I like the fact that you can change it from the top of the engine bay. On my honda I had to jack it up and there still wasn’t much room to wiggle it out

UAMate says:

Thank you for the video. Recently I was trying to get the starter off on my forester 11 to do some cleaning. Before getting lower nut I decided to get the upper bolt first and after a couple of turns it kind of stuck. It was even hard to tight it back. Any ideas what it might be? Or what can be done? I'm afraid to strip or brake a bolt. Thank you

That wasn't so bad,
