Here is a quick little video on how to change the battery on your 2013 and 2014 subaru outback key fob!

Programming: This remote control requires diagnostic programming available at your local qualified automotive locksmith. Please contact your programming source prior to purchase to be certain they have the proper diagnostic tools to program this remote to your vehicle. Please NOTE the DEALER may not program this for you as they prefer to sell the remote to you. Please go to a locksmith in your area instead of the dealer.

3 Steps:

1. The valet key must be cut by a qualified automotive locksmith to match your vehicle’s ignition

2. The remote must be programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to your vehicle’s installed RKE system.

3. The transponder chip (contained on the remote circuit board) must be programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to sync with your vehicle’s immobilizer to start your engine.

Thanks for the video. I changed my fob battery once long ago, but couldn't remember how to do it. Already had a new 1632 battery laying around. Much cheaper than having the dealer do it, I'm sure.
