Bob Kovacs says:

Too much advertising and not enough “show-me” in this video. The loud music
is a distraction, too. I’m doing the clutch on my Subaru and this really
was little help.

ecpoirier says:

this guy’s a magician. i was quoted 7.7 hrs, and he did it in under 4
minutes. It’s worth the drive from Canada for service like this 🙂

EdaP79 says:

change the holy mother of loser ville music soooooo doesnt go with vid bud.

Michael Berenis says:

@EVTuners lucky guy! i bet that was amazing to see them in action. I wish
there was more rally stuff in Florida :*( IDK why there isn’t… sand is
freaking amazing in a awd subaru lol

Pirus Jaffery says:

Nice Beats For A Nice Car !!! Well Done Mate, Well Done.

Michael Berenis says:

yikes something isn’t right bro. I’m not really a clutch expert, but I
would venture to say something is wrong in that area. I would pull it apart
and see if it is engaging/disengaging. That’s my best guess. I’ll post this
on facebook and see if I can get a better answer. Lots of smart car guys on
my FB its linked up on my channel please add me

ProudYoungMommey says:

Never mind that’s the gearbox they’re dropping isn’t it xD

T Bragg says:

I’m replacing my clutch at the moment and was needing to see how they got
the cv axles out of the tranny without taking the axles loose from the hubs
but the video is way to fast

Joshua Tarvin says:

I’m picking up my 02 WRX tomorrow! The guy said it runs like a top, but
that lately you have to “press the clutch a little further in than normal,
but the actual feels fine”…it has 130,000 miles, and he said he doesn’t
think the clutch has ever been replaced..is there anything else it could be
besides the clutch? I hear 02 WRX’s have weak “gearsets”? If you could shed
some light on what I might be looking at, it would be great! thanks!

Michael Berenis says:

@Flippit1303 thanks bro! I was really pumped to get this video out there,
time-lapse for the win 🙂

robsti77 says:

Hi , your car looks very nice, well done. where did you get the WRC
headlights i’m looking everywhere but can’t find nothing. Can you help me?

Michael Berenis says:

@tek87 It was about $800 USD – but it really isn’t hard to do yourself if
you watch closely in this video you can use it as a DIY guide. The hardest
part is separating the transmission from the block b/c subaru uses some
CRAZY strong adhesive/sealant.. if your tranny/engine have been separated
before, it makes it much easier. If you need any help – post up below and
I’ll get you answers asap

Michael Berenis says:

AWESOME!

Michael Berenis says:

@robsti77 i just took the ebay projectors, busted out the turn signal
plastic, cut a little hole for the turn signal, added mesh, and painted the
silver part white. Hope this helps!

Joshua Tarvin says:

thanks! I will definitely try this

ProudYoungMommey says:

Does the tranny have to be dropped on an awd for a clutch replacement?
(learning lol)

tek87 says:

How much did it cost to get all that done? I live in Japan. It’ll probably
be expensive…

Michael Berenis says:

sounds to me like air in the clutch line. Bleed the clutch and make sure
there isn’t any bubbles. These things take time, sometimes hours to bleed
the clutch if someone screwed it up. Open the cap, push the clutch in,
watch for bubbles. Put the cap back on, build up pressure with clutch,
repeat. Do it again, again, and again until it builds pressure. If it isn’t
leaking then it is just air in the clutch.

Flippit1303 says:

great vid mike!

EVTuners says:

@eautocad 5-6 hours, it should never take that long in a shop. I thought I
was fast in my shop, until I saw the Canadian Subaru Rally Team do it it
25min. 4 guys though. The car was on rally stands in a soccer field. That
was a 5sd standard Subaru gear box. I really like your car, looks good bye
the way.

javajoeman says:

hey Michael need some advice I replaced the clutch and flywheel on my 95
3000 gt and now it seems to work properly but it feels like the brakes are
being pushed hard like a power brake situation. any ideas? When I put it in
neutral it wont roll backwards down my driveway like before. I haven’t
driven it just moved it a few feet forward and bake.

Kein Linguist says:

Gearbox and tranny are the same thing.

tehrockk says:

how long did it take?

viperv26 says:

Heyyyy, I know these roads 😉

driftster99 says:

nice scoob dude. i kinda want the same look on my wrx but without the big
yellow decal on the sides

trey overby says:

soo they didnt have to take the exhaust off. thats a relief for me

scrow619 says:

Deadmau5 Gohsts n Stuff RobSwire remix for anyone who wants to know.

spannerpro says:

@robinleveille220988 your right theres no sealent between block and
gearbox. The main reason people run into trouble is subaru run a pull type
clutch and the thrust race is locked into the pressure plate. The thrust
race must be disconnected from the pressure plate before the box will come
out

Michael Berenis says:

@tehrockk its about 5-6 hours

Kein Linguist says:

Also, the transmission/gearbox have to be dropped for ANY clutch
replacement, since the clutch, flywheel, and throw-out bearing are
sandwiched between the engine and transmission.

Prodriver33 says:

dude deadmou5! sweeeet!

Adam Alsnayyan says:

@eautocad They do not use an adhesive to mate the transmission to the block
lol. It just seizes up after a while.

fuq yeuh says:

1:56 lunch break lol

joshuas10 says:

What kind of suspension is on that car?
