James Torrey says:

great walk through, thanks!

marksdickerson says:

nice detailed clear step by step trim removal steps. I am now quite
confident to do my subaru trim removal to replace the radio/cd player.
Trim can be difficult and easily broken so seeing it done is great!

Josh carbaugh says:

I have a 2007 forester S. I’m looking to pull this apart to install an amp
and run the wires from the head unit battery. I hope this is about the same
for a ’07 but we will see.

Leo G says:

Where would you suggest to install external mic and how to route the mic’s
wire. I got Pioneer FH-X700BT and will be installing it in 2003 Forester
for my wife. Thanks

757 imports says:

Good luck!

Mark Guest says:

Very clear step by step explanation on the right procedure to take.

Jackie Sedlock says:

first time. this is really helpful.

757 imports says:

Outstanding! Go Fozzies.

Rodencal says:

Get some panel tools that paper is a waste of time. The tools are plastic
so no messing up nice trim. You can get them at harbor freight for like $6.

YourTexasMusic says:

Great post.

Seababy3106 says:

Great job. I’ll be trying this tomorrow. This video makes it look easy.

Cpt0bv1us says:

Thanks so much for this! Just got an 04 Fozzy and its in desperate need of
a need head unit. Had no idea how many/where the clips and screws were. Now
I do! Thanks again!

gocano2003 says:

Do you know how to fix the 6 disc changer when the CD won’t come out? Thank
you

Julia Philips says:

This is great! My husband’s CD player ate four of my CDs, and I am going to
get them out. He’s too cheap to get a new stereo, so he’ll just listen to
the radio.

757 imports says:

@leo. I put the mic on the pillar trim at the left of the windshield.

Richard Baysa says:

thanks for posting, would probably do this one day to repaint my console 🙂

Jon Ivar says:

@Jackie Sedlock

757 imports says:

No, I just swapped the stock radio out. Srry.

757 imports says:

Answer to ? About heater connector….. Once all of the clips are free
there is enough slack to get to the plugs. Reach in behind and squeeze the
connector lock. Then wiggle it off.

Phlairy says:

Thank you for being so thorough and sharing how to do this

Bill DeVore says:

These directions worked fine for my 2003 Subaru Forester. A CD was stuck in
the 6 disc player. After removing the player and taking off its top panel I
was able to free the CD but the player is still broken.

bradtaco says:

Great vid. Thanks for sharing!

757 imports says:

My first you tube posting. Hope this helps some people out.

Daniel Corley says:

That’s great! Made everything super easy for me.

eselem123x says:

Thanks for posting this. You did a great job with the tips and tricks with
the paper and clip descriptions. I have seen another good vid about the
same, but yours is much more comprehensive. I would have had trouble
removing the part around the gear stick. 🙂

David Person says:

Thank you for this! I have an ’04 Forester w/ the factory sub. Do you know
if installing an aftermarket receiver will keep it’s functionality or do I
need to break down and buy an amp?

Christian DeVivero says:

Hoping the paper trick comes in handy while trying to repair an ’08 Outback
radio. Thanks for posting, 757.

Jose Figueroa says:
