#Revhang fix for most Subarus.
Check it out on my YouTube channel.

This worked on my 2010 WRX hatchback. 😎
My step by step instructions to relearn ECU/computer. This issue normally occurs in lower gears. While clutch is pushed all the way in, RPM bounces up and down sometimes over and/or under revving.
This is normally recommended if battery terminals had to be disconnected for servicing or repairs.
So heres what I found out in my battle with rev hang. 07 Hawkeye. Aka how not to fix your rev hang.
This fix: sadly nothing
cleaning and adding grounds: nothing
cleaned maf: nothing
spark plugs: improved fuel economy by 5-10% (the old ones looked just fine)
disconnected top clutch sensor (in case the cars have some kind of "hold revs when clutch in"): nothing not even a check engine light. I have no idea why its even there in a car without cruise control.
checked the throttle body to make sure it goes 0-100% as it should and cleaned it: nothing
disassembled all the rubber/plastic parts of the intake to check for leaks or anything else out of the ordinary: nothing
and lastly purely for fun, I cut off the rear muffler and v-banded an HKS cannon exhaust in its place which obviously didnt fix anything. However now that I can clearly hear the engine. Its so much easier to shift smoothly because at least I can hear when I should shift. So the non-fix actually helped the most.
I'm trying it on my evo
Did you reconnect all the power. Or do you have to drive a shell of a car for it to stay that way?
Any word if this works on SH Forester 2007-2011?
If this works for my 07 Impreza I owe you a beer. The rev hang is driving me nuts. Makes me look/feel like I´ve never driven a manual.
Those guys look sad
Won’t this come back eventually since the OEM ECU tune is biased for decent MPGs? Rev hang in lower gears supposedly helps improve MPGs and shifting, in higher gears it’s just annoying. A lot of manufactures do this including Honda.
