I just did it without removing that cover or loosening the clamp. Had my wife pull/hold the box open while I pulled the filter out and put a new one in. Is that bad?

I just loosened the hose clamp, pulled the hose off, popped the old one out and put the new one in. Didn’t even need help and took about 2 minutes.

Make sure filter is seated correctly and compartment is closed tightly.
