Installing a Forged EJ257 in my Subaru Forester

Installing a Forged EJ257 in my Subaru Forester

We recently uploaded a video showing the assembly of my new forged Subaru Ej257 engine. In this video, we show the full process of removing the old engine, diagnosing it’s failure, and reinstalling the new forged engine.

Special thanks to Andrewtech Automotive for doing a killer job getting this new engine built and installed!

Huge thanks to TurboXS for helping supply parts for the build!

I'm 6hrs away from them, but I would definitely want to get info on having them rebuilt my 2014 WRX engine.

My forester x has a blown head gasket and I think I’m just gonna swap the engine, I’m thinking about a eg33 but I’m not sure it’ll even fit but the ej257 is defiantly the runner up

B.R.B Garage says:

Did the forester come with the ej257 from the factory ? Or was it equipped with the ej255?

Great narration on this one

Aoru says:

1000 mile break in is technically subaru's standard break in

S. Murz says:

honestly its the unequal length headers causing extra heat in that cylinder for over 147k that did it. That's why #4 is almost always the failure point on the ej's whether it be ringlands, valves, headgasket, or anything else…

Phulpp says:

Andrewtech is one of the best subie places out there. I had the privilege of being a part of the widebody BRZ build and everyday I would stare at that car and was amazed at how well it was Built and what it Turned into. Would love to get my forester built there

Detman101 says:

That's beautiful man…wow.
I don't WANT to have to do that one day…but it would be fun to be able to have it done.
