I'm still enjoying these and they seem pretty robust. I found the place where they connect to the door speakers and made a video https://youtu.be/xidbG_5hCh4 for those who might want to supplement their sound system with crossovers. Also, for those of you who asked if these were worth it I made a whole video covering just that. Please watch it and it should answer your questions. Here it is: https://youtu.be/vUIPSGN7BEg

doc Bobet says:

Nice vid.. would that tweeters fit to xv crosstrek 2020? Thanks

J J says:

Two thumbs up.

Hunter Johnson says:

I got my sti second hand. Pulling out the speakers to install aftermarket found out they already had the upgraded kickers in it. Not impressive.

davidst489 says:

The "stock" door speakers use a lighter smaller more powerful magnet (Neodymium) than the old iron magnets we are used to. Neodymium is used in earbuds. The speaker could be installed 180 degs wrong . Note the angles on the flange when you uninstall the factory speaker the lesser (flatter) angle of the flange is towards the windshield as is the wiring plug.

UltraNuggz says:

Weight doesn't determine quality, they probably utilize a neodymium magnet instead of old school ferrite which provides a higher density flux on coil providing more control of cone… you can glue a brick to it if it makes you feel better about it's 'quality'. Sorry for rant, thanks for taking the time to make this video. BTW, the stock 6.5" stock doors do use a neodymium magnet as well to save weight, again, not a negative.

Hugh Vupy says:

I know this video was posted awhile ago, but do you have an install video of the kicker subwoofer as well?

Steven Miller says:

Thanks for the videos. I've got a 2019 impreza, so it's not 100% the same but definitely a lot of similarities. Not a whole lot of content out there for newer cars so thanks for sharing what you've learned.

GhaV jGRite (jeaHAvee) says:

Is the factory plug for the tweeters the same as the plug for the door speakers?

George Siaxabanis says:

Installed Alpine S-series 6.5’s in the doors but still needed to get new tweeters. Decided on getting the Kicker tweeters to compliment the new door speakers and they changed the stereo completely. I don’t have any amps powering the speakers to it’s just 6 new speakers. It’s a vast improvement over the stock stereo. I won’t win any competitions but it’s def worth the few hundred dollars.

akcream says:

Are these worth the money? These the only ones that fit? no Fosgate?

Sonny Thai says:

Should you install rockmat or any material below the tweeters? Thanks for the great video!

OutlawQuadrant says:

Just added the same tweeters to my WRX. Best way to describe the difference is going from one of the worst stereos I've ever owned to generic bad. Better clarity is the biggest difference I can discern.

Jacob Wagner says:

These videos are really helpful. Thanks! Going to do this in my '17 FXT.

billyclub says:

love your detailed videos about removing panels, major balls dude

Mike Verrino says:

If I only upgraded the door speakers and the tweeters, will that be a drastic improvement? Would you recommend I definitely do a sub too? I think I would get a sub after some time, but I'd be more inclined to do the doors and tweeters ASAP. Great videos BTW, thank you!
