Great job dude.
I got a question so i just changed my brake pads on the front and I forgot to take off the brake fluid cap off and now there’s no pressure and my brake stays thanks.
Dude?! You don’t know how much I appreciate this video! I have a 2011 Mustang GT with the Brembo brake package. I purchased a set of Hawk brake pads from American Muscle and their Video stated that this install would take about 2 hours for the front pads. I took my left front wheel off, saw all of that stuff and said, “there is no way that I am gonna try to tackle that!” Your video gave me what I needed to do it myself. Your video reaches far beyond the Subaru community. Thanks again!
great vid!! thanks man!
dealer gave me a quote for rotors and brake pads——> $ 3,480.00….lol Fuckin idiots!!!!!!
THANKS YOU SIR
No his rotors looked relatively smooth.
hey brother great video. i was just looking at some new pads for my 2012 and wasn’t tryna pay to get them switched out
Thank for a great video. It is useful for my 2008 Subaru WRX STI. Glad I do not have to send in shop for silly price.
You didn’t have to resurface the rotor? great vid btw.
does this apply for the 2011 sti?
Did you put the jack and the jack stands on the pinch rails or the sub frame?
great diy , I have an EVO X and it seems to be similar.. 5 out of 5 on the video.
Thank you for the video, I actually used the video to change the pads on my Cadillac STS-V, same set-up same steps..saved me a lot of money.
I recently had my brake rotors and pads changed. For some reason, every time when I brake, I’m hearing a noise coming from the back. Is this normal after putting on new brakes and rotors? I’m positive I putted them on correctly and I bleed my brakes after also. Just curious because I don’t want to mess up my brakes. Any help will be appreciate., Thanks!
what to use to clean the dirty parts?
same process
Good stuff man, thanks for the info.
Nice Tutuorial..Hope this works on my 2011 STI
cean it off asap, especially if it hits any paint
If it were me, I would brush those pins, new cotter pins and us anti seize
still in hawaii?
what do you do if the brake fluid overflows when compressing the calliper cylinder
Good tutorial but, You should not push the pistons like that, because the presure goes to the brake pump and it could damage it. You should open the blead to relieve the presure.
Good tutorial. Some things to make life easier is to turn the wheel so the Calipers are facing outward.
Also instead of using a flat head to compress the pistons, just keep the old pads in and use a flat head against the pads to compress the pistons.
Good work man! Best Tutorial ive seen!
Doesnt that damage your rotors when you pry the screw driver between that and the pads?
Nice vid thanks for upload…Kia ora bro
Nice video. I don’t even have these yet but this video is just nicely done. Very detailed.
great video! thanks a lot. it looks easy 🙂
This video is awesome! I have an evo x that needs new pads very soon so I’ll keep this video in mind!!
Is it pretty much same for 06-07 WRX??
thanks great vid going change mines this weekend, tell me what kind of suspension you have on?
Its exactly the same
Thanks, man. Inspired me to just replace my own instead of taking it to the shop.
good stuff man. same for GR models??
Juss changed mine out thnx for the great video
To easy
you’re my hero. Great job. This video belongs on NASIOC.
It’s that easy on STi’s!?!?
Nice vid, Its nice to know what your getting into. Excellent instruction
thanks so much bro! doing this on saturday!!
Great instructional vid. Well done. One question….do you know if the same method applies to a 2005 wrx?
I could not get out the bottom pins on both front wheels. For some reason they were both stuck solid. Using flat center punch and hammer. The top pins came out as easy as video but bottom pins did not move even half a mm no matter how many times I hit them. There was nothing pressing against them only the calliper frame. Why were they stuck/jammed?
Great DIY video, no problem wanting to do my own pads now. One question though what size punch is it that you use and you want to get one that does not taper at the end correct?
