Lol lets grab those nuts again……
I didn’t get new grommets and bolts for my 06 Sti…besides that super easy install and super nice product! Grimmspeed FTW!
Just to make their product a bit nicer, there’s not too much of a reason, the grommets are probably still fine. It’s like a chocolate on your pillow after your room is made in a motel i’d say.
There is a possibility. Why don’t you shoot us a we pictures via email and we can let you know what it is looking like. -Matt Homes
Will this work for the EJ22T motor, the harness plug looks the same and so does the solenoid. I know you specify for 02-07 wrx/sti but it can’t hurt to ask.
Technically as long as you are running in 2-port bleed just like your stock BCS you will be fine. The major advantage to our solenoid is the advantage of being able to run in 3-port mode. -Matt Homes
Hi !
Can I Only just Install G.S boost Control ebcs
but without Ecu tunning?
is that work better than stock 2 bleed?
Work fine with stock ecu?
“let’s grabs those nuts again”…..yes, let’s. lol had to sorry, thanks for the vid!!!!!!
I just tried top take a peek at your link, but something wasn’t working properly with it. As long as you are replacing the vacuum line with the 5/32’s line we supply you won’t have any issue with line collapse under vacuum. -Matt Homes
Here is a picture of the engine I am preparing for a swap

Ive taken one of the lines off and it appears to have two layers. it feels rubbery like latex but is more rigid like plastic. if normal rubber lines or some poly, nylon, etc lines will work that would be great. my main concern is that they will collapse under vacuum.
Some of the OEM lines really harden up over time, they end up feeling like they are “plastic” when they are cool, the soften up once warm. Our BCS is engineered to work specifically with 5/32″s ID hose. I am not 100 percent sure on the diameter your JDM EJ series motor uses. If you want to shoot us some pictures I might be able to narrow that down for you. -Matt Homes
I am doing a repair on some vac lines for my EJ20R and its a little sketchy as to the correct lines to use…ive pulled one of the lines and it appears to be a plastic reenforced rubber… I dont know what a comparable hose would be
3:35 Just out of curiosity, why do you send new grommets for the 06-07’s and not reuse the old ones?
Great video!
Your stock boost control system is what it called a “2-port bleed” system. This system with your stock solenoid will typically max out at about 18-19 psi. When you use our 3-port solenoid, you can reach higher boost levels and your tuner will have better control over your turbo. Having better control will allow your tuner to tune your vehicle more aggressively. The end result will be more boost faster, and more aggressive boost curve leading to more power across the RPM band. -Matt Homes
what does this do to my wrx?
doesnt the “T” contain the restrictor pill?
Can you describe the bracket to me? The mounting for the 02-07 WRX and the 04-07 STi is very similar. -Matt Homes
My car is an 04 sti… Why does by boost control bracket look different?
It was good times. I been using Grimmspeed parts back when you guys use to do mostly port and polish work, it was nice to finally see and talk to employees. Keep up the good work.
Great news, wish I could have made it out there with the guys!! Let me know if you have any questions about the install. -Matt Homes
Yeah….not exactly. This is a custom valve. We worked directly with MAC Valves to create this valve for you guys. Not to mention ours has the OEM wiring harness so its plug-n-play, has an OEM fit bracket, and awesome shorty nickel plated hose fittings. More than worth it for a complete plug-n-play option is you ask me. – Justin
I just picked one of these up fro Subiefest yesterday. Can’t wait to use it.
Hater. Quick everyone. Give a thumbs down, so we can vote iXetsuei comment to the bottom of the list.
This install video is for the 07-07 WRX/STi. That is noted at the beginning of the video. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Matt Homes
what year is this for?
So a few small important things here left out. Use 5/32 hose. Even if you have a turbo with a 1/4 nipple. Not doing this will cause the car to act extremly eratic ! Second is zip tie the hoses to the ebcs. Use the smaller thinner zip ties to ensure a tight seal. I found it easier to zip tie everything and then screw it down. Other then that awesome product and has served me well. 02 wrx with a evo III big 16g.
Thank you! You are going to want to use 5/32’s vacuum line. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Matt Homes
Never hurts to try to have a little fun at work, right!? _Matt Homes
Great video. What size is the new vacuum line please?
lol @ 4:10 “Lets grab those nuts” haha 😀
Paul, you can shoot me an email matt @ grimmspeed . com. -Matt Homes
