seams kind of pointless to remove all of that if the knob twists off, if you are worried about bite marks from pliers just put a rag over it and use just enough force to spin it

Hey dude! Nice tutorial. I was searching google for knobs that fit Hondas and saw your link haha! For me it’s not for ff dori, I use it to shave off speed sometimes down hills or whatever without moving my foot over to the brake. It’s super weak and doesn’t lock anyway so it’s all good.

When I went to Bobby Ore Motorsports School of Stunt Driving I voluntarily used my light tuned and modded S13 coupe and i had a spin turn knob and it makes sliding and hand brake turns much easier than it would without the knob

25 at LEAST…

My friend, you do not need to remove the handle to properly install this you gain nothing by doing that only a harder install!

MrXorHomer says:

That’s why all professional drifters use their hand breaks right? They may not use it in every corner but they do use it a lot, in fact, all drifters at a professional level use a hydraulic hand break.

Alex Townsend says:

Because it’s damn near impossible to unscrew the knob without pliers that way…sure you can use pliers which will fuck up the OEM button with teeth marks. So if you ever wanted to put it back on incase of selling the car back to stock, the OEM knob will be damaged. My way insures that nothing is damaged and can be put back on…

jpudd54 says:

I feel that the leaver is to long already so my plan is the get a shorter handle and see how that goes because when I go for it I always want to go farther back

Philippe Strapko says:

what has this world come to..

Alex Townsend says:

Yes, you’re right, there are multiple ways to drift no doubt about that. The spin turn knob is a simply novelty among drifters though. While it’s mostly used by beginners, it is still also used by experts as well. For example mid way through a drift by downshifting by heel-toe, and clutch kicking, the ebrake method can add on to that drift if you need to slow down a bit during mid drift and get more angle. So it does help and a lot of drifters have these in there cars.

down shifting alone generates engine braking, which significantly slows the car down. if you have a brz or frs you should be taking huge advantage of the rear wheel action your getting. All you need to engage in a great slide is your manual gear box, good throttle play (to balance your yaw during the slide), and some practice. then throw it up a gear or two to end the slide. Also your right fwd is just the worst, you will under-steer all day. Trust me your better off power sliding vs ebraking

Alex Townsend says:

Because it will lock up the rear wheels, causing the car to slow down a bit and throws it into a slide. And since you control the car with your front tires in a rear wheel drive car, it makes it a good drifting method once you have the rear out. Now with a front wheel, it would be bad because you’ll understeer since again, you control the car with the front wheels.

Ceba551 says:

why are you using an ebrake with a rear wheel drive car?? i drift all the time throwing the car into a lower gear and poping the clutch… i seem to get incredible slides without the use of my e brake. i’d understand if you had a front wheel drive car why you would upgrade that button.

Alex Townsend says:

I have amazing god like drifting skills. Officials get mad at me during autocross events when they see me rip that ebrake though the turns!

Mat R says:

Jokes aside, it does look like a nice piece of kit.

Mat R says:

Is it true that the drift button imbues the driver with “God like drifting prowess”? Alternately, do you from the time of installation on have to refer to it as a “Driftu Buttonu”? 🙂

Kyu1LL says:

sweet thanks!

Alex Townsend says:

Yup, this same knob comes in Red, Blue, and Silver. You can get it from Rallysportdirect website

Kyu1LL says:

yeah, I know about the clutch in aspect of course. I don’t remember why, but there was a reason why I hesitated installing one of these but I seem to forget now. I want to get one for the FRS, but I just want to be sure. Do you know of a button that comes in red?

Alex Townsend says:

I’m not sure where you read that, but the button itself doesn’t mess up anything. When actually putting it to use while drifting, you need to push in the clutch as you pull the ebrake, if you don’t push in the clutch and only pull on the ebrake, then I believe that will put some ware on your car…to an extent on how many times you do it wrong. As far as brake lines messing up, I’ve never heard/read about that before.

Kyu1LL says:

So I’ve read before that the drift button messes up your car somehow? Is this true? Something to do with brake lines or something. Can’t remember.
