This is money. I did one and this is a great guide that I wish I had.

Did you have to loosen up the 2 bolts on the clamp in the center of the turbo to finally get the transmission apart?

Jay Fajardo says:

Hi mr brian. Subaru sti replaceing clutch assembly should be remove fork clutch shaft?

Jester says:

You didn’t turn the flywheel?

Subaru Guru says:

Yeah I'm pulling the engine for sure. Seems much easier. Only done it once before but I feel confident. Thanks for the info Brian

Holden Cooper says:

Thanks for the videos! Watched over a few times to pick up the tips and carried out my own clutch/flywheel change recently with out too many issues. Mainly separation of the block and realignment of gear box back on after… several tries later and remembered to use the driveshaft to rotate the gearbox slightly, went straight on after that!

Tony W says:

Yes I'm happy, I've done plenty of clutches in my life, but no way I'm doing my Subbie after watching this

Mike Rivera says:

Great videos!! Again great and very inspirational informative videos. The only thing I would add is to emphasize breaking the seal on the bell housing of the motor to transmission. As I had to pry mines apart, both dowel pins stuck to the transmission. Don’t be afraid to use a wedge to separate. Good stuff Brain and thank you……

Jesse Timm says:

Hey thanks for the videos they were extremely helpful doing and tackling my flywheel and clutch in my 2012 WRX now I have a question my front driver side axle seal is now leaking I watched four different videos just pop the axle seal out with the tool that I have or do I actually have to spin that piece out and yelled that controls the backlash and put it in from the back side because the videos I watched show is all being done a different ways and I would trust your advice over there thank you

steve romeo says:

Nice vid. I changed my clutch 1 month ago, now I broke my transmission with the new clutch kit.
I have already removed the gearbox, but the throw out bearing just sits on the clutch now. How can I remove it to put it on the transmission? Or can i put the transmission on it like that, and then put the fork on the throw out bearing from the top? Would be thankfull for every information.

Antonio Claudio Michael says:

Exhaust ends you talking about the y pipe or the x pipe on a dual exhaust vehicle?

Antonio Claudio Michael says:

Re installing transmission can be a pain also

Antonio Claudio Michael says:

There must be lots of Subaru's in Utah. Here in California I've only worked on two of them before. Even though the Subaru dealership is right on the other side of the freeway, I don't see very many of them.

Miriam Vivo says:

If I may ask what brand of clutch kit looks oem.

Chris Fennimore says:

Thanks Brian. Yep, Its easy enough, I'll pull the H4's right out to work on anything. Good video.

In thousands of years they will dig up your clutch string and wonder what kind of cultist ritual it was used for.
