This vehicle quit while driving down the road. The end result was a broken timing belt which caused the valves to hit pistons (zero clearance engine). The valves were bent which caused no compression and the no start. The fix could be as easy as replacing the valves which are relatively cheap. The labor for this job is the majority of the cost. However a DIY can take this apart and pay a pro to install new valves for around $200. This job cost me a little less than $1k. I made the decision to get the heads reconditioned which was the majority of the cost, that was not necessary but was looking for longevity for life of the vehicle.
