Most of my photos are on my blog. You can link to it from my main “channel” page – I think it you click on my username. My brother has an ’03 Outback 3.0L H6. Very nice cars.

I just bought an 02 legacy l outback. I love it. We’llhave to share photos

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Thanks. Well worth the time and effort spent on this.

Databyter says:

Nice looking.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I cut the wiring pigtails off some broken fog lights at the junkyard and spliced them to the new lights.

iloveafter says:

how did you do the splice part? what were those pieces you connected to the ends of the wires to allow the connection of the new fog light to the factory wiring?

GoldenRamMtlmstr says:

I assumed there was no ready wiring there, and assumed I would have to splice in new wires. There is a knock out on the dash for additional accessories so I could put a switch in there and run my own set of wires, a job I would be fine with.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Hey there
Sounds like you have a bumper like my old car (Legacy L). My wife has a similar Legacy L, with those spots in the bumper that look like knockouts. I looked at the wiring on her car and the car does NOT have the wiring to hook up fog lights. I also don’t know if the dashboard has the correct wiring for a factory fog light switch. You MAY have the wiring you need, but you also may need to run fresh wiring and add a new switch. Not a huge deal in the long run.

GoldenRamMtlmstr says:

I would like to install fog lights but my car never had them, only a rectangular spot that looks like a knock out. Any suggestion on that? Wiring, cutting out the knock out? Any thoughts on installing an HID headlight system for my ’95 Legacy LS? I’ve found a few that are compatible on E-Bay. 282,000 miles and still fixing it up and working on it! I found fog lights which did come with brackets and the HID kit on e-bay. THANK YOU!!

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Go for it. The fog lights were on sale at Harbor Freight for something like $12.99.

Tisafuckingmackdaddy says:

i want to do this so bad!

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Thanks. A knock sensor video will be coming, most likely, but not soon. It’s accessible from the top of the engine. If you look down to the block near the rear of the driver’s side, beneath the intake manifold, you should see it. It’s secured by a single bolt. Not a difficult job. I did one on an EJ25 back in December.

Love your videos I have a 95 legacy L sedan . Could you please make a video on replacing the knock sensor or message back with some help. Thanks 🙂

MercedesDieselGuy says:

So far, I’m happy with them. I probably won’t use them often. I just like having the option.

Michael Sackstein says:

aftermarket lights typically work better in the older subarus than the original factory ones do

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Thanks. I was surprised how nice they are for a $12.99 pair of fog lights. I tried them out last night and they work very well.

benzlover55 says:

Nice, they look almost stock, how well do they work at night?
