Glad to hear it! Hmmm, the laser is definitely a possibility, I tend to see that issue when a wrong region game is inserted. Did you have any region mods on that beast?

Not really a experienced Saturn owner, but more of a Dreamcast guy. Anyway, got a Model 1 Saturn (like you have, PAL), and I was playing normally. I then powered it down to swap CD, and ever since that moment, it will only recognize ANY of my games as Audio-CD’s. Do you think this may be a laser-issue ? it will play audio-tracks fine, even the last ones.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Been flat out. If the disc doesn’t spin it could be an issue with the laser again. Before spinning up, the laser focuses on the disc, once it has a lock on the grooves on the disc it starts it spinning. I’d try maybe installing the older laser to see if that still works. If it does, the new laser might have issues!
So i got a new laser for my saturn because it would sometimes read the disc and sometimes not. I took the anti static deal off with the solder iron and a towel but now the spindle wont spin the disc when its trying to read it, whats the deal with that?

Yep, the new ones I’ve purchased in the past have all had the anti-static solder bridge on the corner. A quick hit with the soldering iron and they are free to seek, beam and read!
Did the laser you purchase have the anti static block on it and did you have to solder it off ?

Definitely! eBay has the way, Around $30 shipped will net you a new laser. Always try adjusting the laser strength first though to see if it makes a difference. My lasers are all JVC Optima-6S models. So that works well for me and that is over the ten or so Saturns I’ve seen through here. Not sure if there are other types… or at least the Optima-6S units are compatible with the ones I have! Hope this helps on your journey!

ohh lol, it looked like you turned it clockwise XD, so i figure you turned it that way. To be honest the only other decent 32x game i know of is virtua fighter, but i like the launch saturn version 100000x more 😛 something about the saturn with me lol, its one of the first systems i have good memorys of buying it. it felt better than the christmas i bought my 360 at walmart in 2009 ^_^ and when i got the unit i have unboxed on youtube, it felt like i was the original owner buying it retail
