The beginners guide to replacing a Sega Saturn laser pickup. This was my first attempt to replace a dead laser from a Sega Saturn- a V-Saturn specifically. As it turns out, it is a very easy task. I try to point out everything significant to the repair.
Laser pick up purchased here:

Interestingly enough, the package was sent by Liberty Electronics, which as other similar lasers for sale for a more expensive price.
Saturn is a JVC V-Saturn- Model 2, 32-pin cd board.
Thank you Segaholic! I have watched your other videos to clean/restore my Dreamcast and Saturn. I just switched out the laser from my Saturn yesterday and it works great. Lasers on eBay are much more expensive now. I'm looking into getting a Sega CDX someday. Can you post a video on how to change the laser out of that?
Hi there.
Great video. I have a question I have a JVC X'eye that's needs servicing. The discs won't spin. Can you repair my X'eye ? I can mail you my system. What state are you in ?
