Thanks that was very helpful. I'm going to change mine out now. Piece of cake. ;c)

Nicola Della Cioppa says:

Hi Rich. I hope you haven't abandoned the Saturn's. I know it's been a few years. I love your videos and the knowledge and insight you bring to them.

I just wanted to ask if you have come across an inexpensive way to reprogram the PCM? I recently swapped my PCM to add cruise control. Issue is that the PCM I put in had keyless entry while my car does not have a factory RKE. Plus I would love to reprogram my vehicles original VIN number into swapped PCM.

Thank you.

Nic

2002 saturn sl200 what's the computer behind the glove box?

Walt P says:

I have a friend who has a 2000 SL1. His check engine light is out but my OBDII says there is a P0410 error (secondary air). He took it to get it inspected and they said the computer couldn't be read. It hasn't been reset for weeks. The check engine light lights when I turn on the ignition so it's not burned out. Could this be a problem with the PCM? I'm lost.

Guss ferretti says:

Hey Rich if both computers match numbers, vehicle year, and trans will it still need to be reprogram?

David Trevi says:

I have a 2001 Saturn SL1. Mechanic wants to charge me $800 for a pre-flashed computer. States its not working to call the fan to turn on. I see the PCMs way cheaper online. So what tool would I need to flash/install the programming? Brand? Model Type?

Michel Mullaney says:

Hey RIch I need some help, My Saturn was leaking transmission oil and idling at a high rpm . I put it up on ramps and checked the filter to see if anything was loose.. I then filled the transmission fluid took it off of the ramp and immediately saw a puddle of fluid. The car shifts however does NOT move in anyway what so ever.. could it be the PCM ??

MrAwsomeshot says:

hey rich if a dumbass mechanic left the ground strap to computer disconnected could that make the car surge a little/idle high? I know the intake manifold gasket is a typical problem that causes rough idle and surging but just noticed this on the 00' I recently purchased for my gal.

I fixed it just now. not sure if maybe should disconnect battery or pcm to clear stuff?

Demo says:

Thanks, you helped alot I wouldn't have thought to take the dash cover off.

Ron Carpino says:

What are the symptoms of a bad PCM.  I have codes that come and go…

Bruce Junior says:

I can't seem to find the main computer on a 95 Saturn SL1. where would that be located and how difficult is it to remove and replace

Elijah Baxter says:

Hey rich I'm making my 1st gen sc2 a manual and I'm having trouble removing the PCM and installing the clutch pedal any pointers?

Victor says:

Can you make a video showing how to remove the valve cover for a SOHC S-series?

mtcolors909 says:

finally was able to pop the top to check the AC flow…. yep It was loose… blowing strong now.

next issue that Just started. ignition startup issues. ive watched your other videos just haven't swapped out anything, I want to get your input. ok, insert the key, turn to start the car and it will crank then die out like its loosing juice, dash goes out to, or just a single click, dash black also, or it starts right up like normal.
lock cylinder? ignition module behind the cylinder? or something else?
thank you for posting the videos you do.
Mike

Steve C says:

where is the pcm located in a 1993 Saturn sc2?  I took the panel off and I could only locate the air bag module

McLean Blades says:

Why would I want to swap PCMs?  Will my odometer mileage change? If I swap with a car having low mileage would that help somehow?

John Wilkerson says:

1st, hope your dad is recovering well.

Can you swap the PCMs between a standard and manual transmission?

ngl777777 says:

Best of wishes to your dad when he starts his rehab.
