daddytech says:

but that’s not the problem i am having everything in the car minus the fuel
pressure is fine

konanism says:

The wiring harness to the pump was bad.

richpin06a says:

If you don’t mind i think everyone including myself would like to know what
the problem was.

konanism says:

yes even replaced it. finally got tired of fighting the electrical problems
on this car and sent it to a garage. 210 dollars later its fixed.

richpin06a says:

Have you checked the fuel pump relay to make sure it is functioning
properly.

konanism says:

I always have dc power in the grey wire. what does this mean? Car will not
start, brand new pump. I have the feeling its electrical problems

Z28rexx says:

aterminatorz says:

How do you know what setting to turn the voltmeter to? If you use the wrong
setting can you damage anything?

daddytech says:

car shuts off after 10 minutes running i put the fuel pressure tester on it
and watched at the 10 minute mark and the fuel pressure just dropped to
nothing not sure where the relay is but i am thinking it may be the cause
of this whole thing because you can crank the car right back up again after
it dies and it runs then idles rough and dies again until it’s cool. at
that point (when it’s cool again) it will run for another 10 minutes before
dying again.

richpin06a says:

Have you replaced the engine coolant temp sensor and its connector.

2002 S Series – I see 3 wires, Grey, Purple (Middle) and Black with white
stripe. Bad fuel pump?… Bad Fuel Pump I am asking?

theHeraldTV says:

Dude, you’re video is the only place I’ve been able to locate the fuel pump
connector — not the Chilton nor the Haynes manuals show you precisely
where this is. Thanks!

richpin06a says:

@skimntdan Sorry i did not get back to you sooner i just got back my
internet from the recent Halloween snowstorm can i still help you.

bslotab4 says:

Also, I am having just about the same problem that someone in your step 2
commented on. My door chime, radio, and rear defrogger also quit. The dome
light still works though. He mentioned replacing the fuse panel. Is this
the panel behind the radio with the prongs, or the connenting parts that
the wires are connected to. Thanks for your help.

Danilo Maza says:

richpin ur great love ur video please keep it up thnk u

richpin06a says:

It might be the pressure regulator at the rail which is leaking.

kjp7793 says:

when i do this it does not show the voltage and when i turn the key to
crank it over it reads the voltage at around 12 v does that mean its good
or not

Reverse Gear says:

Just asking. In this video the power comes on for a few seconds and goes
off. Is this because you turned the switch on then off? Because my problem
is that I get 12 volts for a few seconds then nothing. Out of the relay I
am fine. Constant voltage. But in the trunk no.

richpin06a says:

@1PositiveGuy Thank you for sharing.

saturnfan says:

i really like your videos. thanks for helping people out there with simply
to use instructions!

skimntdan says:

2002 S Series – I see 3 wires, Grey, Purple (Middle) and Black with white
stripe. Only one with power is Purple with Key on. Black is ground and
checks out. All other power checks out x 3 videos you have produced on Fuel
pump troubleshooting. No pressure at Rail, car will not start or runs about
3 seconds. No power in grey wire. Confused about Grey wire not having
power. Everything forward of it does. Bad fuel pump

richpin06a says:

@tedsk899 I do not at this time.

Reverse Gear says:

Thanks. And I was checking the wrong fuse. So at the relay/fuse it does go
off after 3 seconds.
