If it is leaking from the compressor side can I just replace the compressor
and then refill. The ac guys want 1500 dollars to fix my system but when
they charge it will work for a month then stop. Let me know what u think.

I use a $50 set of gauges from Harbor Freight. The valves on the fill cans
can bend the little Schrader Valve pins inside the fill ports. You save
money by buying those cans but when you bend the little valve pin inside it
makes a chronic leak causing the system to constantly need filled up. Any
time you open the lines up on an ac system it should be vacuumed with a
vac. pump. I bought one of these at Harbor Freight too. If you don’t the
moisture inside the system will corrode everything inside.
Well, there are people (students like me) who can’t really afford the high
maintenance costs and it is very hard to find a reliable mechanic who can
fix it without breaking something else and then giving me a unreasonably
high quote to fix something. So I thank people like you who make life
easier for us with your videos. One question, will it hurt the system if
you don’t vacuum the air out of the system?

From my experiences with A/Cs there needs to be absolutely no air in the
system before recharging it. After you replaced that o-ring and bolted
everything back together did you use a vacuum pump to vacuum the air out of
the system? It wasn’t stated but figured it was done. A/Cs are tricky even
for the professionals.
Awesome video allowed me to fix my a/c with excellent step by step

I am a Saturn owner. I have bought 4 SL-1s new. My baby is a 1995 SL-1 WITH
122.227 mi. on it. My wife has a 2001 SL-1 with about 60,000 mi… I would
not put LEAK SEAL of any kind in their AC system. This stuff is air
activated(regardless of what they claim). If you have to take a line loose
it all turns to crap. It is then time to replace the compressor and all
major components. The best leak seal is to replace all o rings when you
can. I also soak my O rings in oil before installing them.
When doing a full system bleed do you need to add any oil to the system, or
use a 134a can with an oil mix in it?
I have a 93 saturn, which one is the Low Pressure side? the one in front or
back? The one in back is smaller and the cap has a P on it, and the nozzle
looks like a tire nozzle.

Agreed, they do want your money. People are hard up for money now and now
more than ever people are doing repairs to their own vehicles to save lots
of money. If you have any problems charging, let me know.. 🙂

This video was put together for the people that want to do it themselves.
As stated above on the show more tab, I suggest to get it done
professionally. My son is too cheap to let me do it for him free at my
garage, so I figured if he is going to half ass the ac system, better from
me, than someone else. I have my own shop & have been a mechanic for over
25 Years now. I have all the necessary equipment to do it properly, but
lots of people prefer not to get it done at a garage.
The freon was recovered, what little there was, as opposed to bleeding all
the freon & air out, then refilling. I hate to say this here, but a lot of
people just bleed out everything into the environment, then refill. It
isn’t the proper way to do it, but works

something about maintaining your own vehicle where you can that gives a
