Sorry, I think I got confused with my vue at the store. The low beams Are just h11

vinnygunn says:

Awesome, thanks! Just did it on an 07. Weird though, online and the book at the hw store both said 9006 for low beam, but when I got it out it was h11. Had to drive back to the store with my headlight assembly half sticking out and my hood not fully closed. Do yourself a favor and buy both, just in case! Question though, was the light assembly supposed to come out all the way or is there still a bolt under? I just pulled it out enough to change the light, cuz it seemed to still be secured under.

John Jerman says:

Video is misleading for a 2008 Saturn aura. There is a bolt holding the corner of the light fixture tight against the bumper and fender. You must remove wheel well cover and part of the fender to get to the bolt so you can remove the headlamp. takes about 2.5 hours, I could probably do it in 1.5 to 2 hrs. Wear a long sleeve shirt and gloves the edges of wheel well covers and fender are sharp and will cut you up pretty good. I highly recommend doing both headlamps at the same time.

NO problem its a bit tricky but to save $ anyone can do it

kmvfree says:

After having paid a mechanic to do the right side 6 months ago, I was not happy about having to pay for the left side. I needed an extra set of hands and muscle to slip the light out, but we got it. Thanks so much!

Wayne Kendrick says:

Thanks! This was very helpful.

execlon says:

If you did all those bolts above and the head light moves around like it should come out but hits your bumper i would assume you didnt pull the headlight out hard enough. $100 labor quote is not bad at all i got a couple hour quote so i didnt care about if i scratched my bumper pulling out or not. Get a buddy to pull with you if it feels like itll come out. My uncle helped me on the passanger side drivers i got to pop right out.

Jackie Gears says:

So, I found this site saying that there is actually a 4th bolt.. underneath, and that’s the one that requires the bumper removal.

Ugh, this is so frustrating. I’m a mechanical engineer and I cannot believe they’d design a car that requires taking the bumper off to change the bulb! Blah… Detroit’s a half hour drive from me, let me talk to those engineers!

Jackie Gears says:

Does anyone have a 2008 Aura? I removed all of the fasteners identified above but could not get the right headlight out. I’m wondering if maybe the model has an extra fastener or step I need to take? Maybe I didn’t push hard enough (left and right hand directions above). I would rather not pay $100 for the labor quote I received! Thanks in advanced!

Very helpful video ,I replaced my bulb today, saved myself some money ,thanks !

execlon says:

Glade it’s saving people some headaches

jfintex43 says:

Fukn awesome video bro. Saved my ass. Been paying for that, but no more. Took about 15 minutes

randyr55 says:

Sweet. Took me about 20 minutes. I got tired just watching another video that had you removing wheel well covers, etc. Local auto shop wanted $80 to do this. Thanks!

b1u9t6c8h says:

Thank you, sir. I did this to my wife’s 2008 Aura this morning. It only took 15 mins with a screwdriver and channellocks. The right side is definitely a bit harder to get out. I could tell where someone had done it before, there was a groove scraped into the light housing that lined up with the fender corner. Great time saver, changed both to avoid the hassle of doing it again.

offdatgogo says:

Thanks for the vid. I installed an HID kit on one of these for a client. I ended up removing three 10mm bolts that hold the fender in place. That made it a bit more easier to get the outer corner edge of the light assembly up & over.

Kirandeep S.S says:

I can do it just as fast from the tire well 🙂 I got two different lights in atm so when I buy new ones I’ll make a video too

execlon says:

Another one! Glade it worked for you

Chris Harrington says:

I just did it took a little longer than 10mins but it was real easy to do

execlon says:

Great !! Glade to help another!!!

cgideon78 says:

Thank you for this video. I don’t typically comment but I wanted others to know that this method does work! Went ahead and replaced all of the bulbs. Thanks 🙂

Matthew J. Wnuk says:

really didnt want to take off the front end, repair cheapest quote 75.00. watched the video + doing it took 10 minutes. Thank you very much.

execlon says:

Good luck with it hope it works for you as well

execlon says:

Glad you did it. I was so mad when i read i had to take the hole bumper off.

Marie Sand says:

I did it!!!! :)))))…cheesing hard over here…I am not one to make comments online anywhere…but I had to because I wanted people to know IT CAN BE DONE….I am a woman and 5’5…I could not get the headlight out but I did push it out enough to squuuuuueeeeeeeezzzz my hand inside the area to change the bulb. Wow! :))) BIG feeling of accomplishment over here…whew!

TheAngriestOfGnomes says:

Thanks for the upload! Will be trying this today… I took off almost all the plasitcs last time. It was a MAJOR pain in the ass

Sujely Batista says:

Geez! What a pain!! But it worked for me!! I’m a small woman and I couldn’t force the headlight off, but I have tiny hands and was able I pull the lamp forward and switch out the bulb. Thank you!!

brigond1 says:

Yes, I guess I was a little apprehensive about forcing it up. If you look underneath in front of the tire. There are 2 screws 7mm, there are pop tabs between those screws. There are more pop tabs in front of the wheel, all must be removed. Then you can pull back the wheel lining to gain access. The skinnier you are the better. Or remove the wheel so u can pull back the liner further. Nothing needs to be touched on top. I placed a magnetic flashlight inside , it made a nog difference.

execlon says:

awsome! post it up i was so pissed at my car thinking i had to take the bumper off. Afew people have been able to use my method but some are scared to use enough force to do it. If you can do it in 10min share your knowledge 🙂

brigond1 says:

I tried this method and I wasn’t able to get it done this way. I did get the light changed though. I found an even easier method. I was able to get it through the bottom. By taking off 2 screws. And about 8 pop tabs. It was a little tight but I was able to change it in 10 minutes. Maybe I will do a video on it myself. You can gain access from the corner of the car without taking off the center facia.

rushthatt says:

Great car but stupid headlight placing

cree James says:
