Right now there are only a handful of scan tools out there that can read
air bag codes. My innova 3130 can not.Right now i do not have much of any
knowledge on air bag trouble spots.Does sound like a loose connection
though.
Thanks for this Rich.. I’m working on a 97 Honda Accord, and after
watching this, looked for one on that vehicle, and viola, they are out..
Now to peel the sensor out, so they don’t immediately deploy on
reconnection. Pick N Pull is the wrecking yard out here.. Air bags are $42
each. The sensor, no clue..
Have you ever done a video about how to adjust the rear breaks on a 1997
vintage SC2. I understand you need a special adjustment wrench. Do you know
where we can get one? Enjoy your videos! Thanks
Why would you remove it in the first place? If it went off and you were
replacing it, that I can understand. But there would be some other issues,
I am sure. Like blown off panels, etc. Are you saying some people actually
want to remove it from the car because they don’t want it in there?
Hi Rich, I have a question We have a 2006 Saturn ION and when we drive the
airbag light comes on and then goes off.. I hooked up my OBDII scanner and
no codes came back. Im asking you this question because I call you the
Saturn Guy, because you have allot of videos on saturn repairs :-)… What
do you think it could be and causing it to go on the dash and flash then
after a minute or two disappear? Thanks, James
My dash squeeks on the right side by the window, great vid on how to remove
the dash pad. Any ideas on how to stop the squeek?
You have a big nose

Saturn mistake:The adjuster does not line up with the the window in the
backing plate.I have tried to make a tool but came up empty.
The rear breaks on our 1997 SC2 are drum type and a regular brake spoon
won’t adjust them.
I Like how you’re very detailed good job
Was there a problem with the airbag? I appreciate your showing us the
procedure, but it’s unclear why you were doing it.

Id like to completely take it out. Could I re use the front panel on the
air bag to cover the hole in the dash?
@Cp240sx the point is to be able to change it out yourself if you need to
change it.
Thank you
nicely done rich.
To remove the fuse AND the battery? Redundant. Remove the battery and
switch the IGN on – leave 5 minutes. Capacitors now FLAT.
How come you know so much about Saturn sir?
I never see any.

Great work, Rich! You are a great inspiration for Saturn S-series DIYer’s.
I always look forward to watching anything you work on for Saturn S-series.
One of my loyal followers wanted me to do a video on the procedure of
removing the passenger air bag.
