Parasitic Battery Draw Diagnosis: Saturn Wagon

Parasitic Battery Draw Diagnosis: Saturn Wagon

Hey it’s a Saturn Wagon! Almost 300,000 miles on the clock!

The owner tells me that the battery keeps going dead if the Saturn sits for more than a couple days. Quite annoying.

Sounds like we are dealing with a classic Parasitic Battery Draw.

No fancy tools required to track this problem down…just a voltmeter, a wiring diagram, and your brain 🙂

Enjoy!
Ivan

I'd like the business name of your friend on Statten Island. He's close enough.

No need to do oil changes. With every 5,000 miles, you've added 10 quarts.

If the Saturn keeps going its miles really can represent a trip TO Saturn

You built test lights with big 1157, you can also get a 194 and even an old incandescent Christmas bulb to measure the small stuff that wouldn't be enough to glow a big bulb, and LED usually have a trip threshold to light.
