thanks! I probably won’t be the best at explaining the rear drums, they have a lot of springs and I’m not very efficient at the, but one good tip that I always do when I do them, is leave one side assembled so you can reference it when reassembling it, so just do one side at a time. And get the drums turned if they get too smooth they will squeak. And its recommended to get the spring kit to usually only $10 or so.
Awesome video, did my own Saturn 2000 SL 2’s front brakes this afternoon following your lead and it worked like a gem! Thanks! Do you have one for the rear brakes?
Those can be really tight. Did the bolt ends strip? Probably want a 1/2 inch drive, six point socket, with a breaker bar. or even better a impact wrench, if it fits in there.
I love these cars, my dad bought this one new and it has 370,000 miles now. easy to maintain, good gas mileage, cheap parts, As long as you change the oil, they’ll treat you good. I’ve seen some people that have blown the motor because they have’nt changed the oil, then they bitch about how crapy saturns are, when it was there own faults. Thanks for the comment 🙂
I forgot i needed the 18mm …I used to have that wrench …so got car jacked up got calipars off and then was like where is my 18mm…needless to say cant find it, i bought it just for this reason, so now i have to go spend more money…typical saturn never have the standard size tools. but i have a 1997 saturn bought it new and has been a great car.
Thanks Man!
Awesome video.
Do you know where I can find the 18 mm caliper bracket bolts? Mines came off twice (while driving) and I’m not sure why!
Thanks. Just a not: securing the calipers with a piece of rope is a good idea because, as they say, stuff happens.
im about to do mine right now for my 99 saturn sl2
Thanks- your video helped me do my Saturn’s brakes today.
