Good Video Bud, Went smooth and no problems doing it myself. I’m done
taking it to a local WALMART here in Indiana. The drain plug from the last
OIL CHANGE was LOOSE ! I have a saying ! There is no one out there going to
wipe your ASS better than you… This is how I feel when it comes to
changing my own oil ! Again, thanks for the video. Good Job !

James Russell says:

This was the only video I watched before changing my Saturn’s oil for the
first time. No problem at all. Thanks!

vanzpp says:

Thanks for posting this! My 97 SL1 burns oil like crazy, and I can’t spend
$50-60 to take it to FasLube whenever I need to add more oil. This is great
info!

Omar Chisolm says:

@ccaaasssccaaaaa Do u kno how to eliminate hard shifting?

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

Nope. This car has never had leaks. It’s been pretty bullet proof in that
department. The only time I had a leak with this car is when the water pump
went out.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@omarG19100 Yeah buy or convert your car to manual transmission. =P. J/K To
answer your question no I don’t. I personally despise automatics and only
have one for my wife. I know virtually nothing about things I rarely
use/don’t like. I’d say, PM Richpin, or try to search on some Saturn forums
for your answer. Don’t give up though. The truth is out there =D

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@hitachi088 This man/woman speaks the truth! (unfortunately) =/

Robert Grafton says:

I have a 1994 saturn sl with 100k miles… should I switch to synthetic.. I
take good care of it so theres no sludge

glethal85 says:

Its actually not hard to see anything in particular, its just when you’re
watching the video before going under the hood, its tough to tell whats up,
down, sideways and what not… To help clean up the oil from the filter i
used a half-cut open empty oil container, not a bag. MUCH THANKS!

Omar Chisolm says:

Quick question for the a/c unit which line is the low pressure? ppl say the
one with the black/blue top but both my high, and low have black tops. i
wanna recharge it.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

I have never heard of this. Thanks for the tip.

Tyler Jones says:

Also make sure the Old Filter Gasket came off. I heard many stories of old
gaskets staying on, then the pressure breaks the first causing all oil to
leak out, ultimately ceasing your engine.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

Dude you guys are nuts. I can’t even hear music during the specified time
frame! Thumbs up for you =)

socom3hayden says:

the song that is playing around 1 minute to 1:40. I really wish I could
figure it out lol.

DJDeezy ThaTruth says:

All done. Preciate’it. Nice to get a good preview before you start a
project. Sat’s were new to me.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

You are very welcome! Thanks for watching and check out some of my other
Saturn videos if you have some more basic maintenance that needs to be
done. Have a good one =)

Omar Chisolm says:

is the oil filter like right under the alternator behind the splash guard?
i jus dont want to take off splash guard lol.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

I have no idea what song is even playing during that time frame.. If you’re
talking about the actual intro of the video (with the actual words on the
screen) then that would be “Mr. Smooth” which is performed by Michael
Franks.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@omarG19100 It’s around that area. You can do it from the bottom. I removed
the splash guard because it was already damaged an it’s easier to film
stuff with it out of the way. It’s totally doable with the splash guard in
place.

palfucs says:

@omarG19100 lol old post but if your still curious.. You might have a bad
or dirty transmission solenoid. They are pretty easy & cheap to replace if
you have the tools.

glethal85 says:

Good! Good, tomorrows oil change should go quite smoothly. Its kinda hard
to see whats goin on in the video but i’m sure i’ll learn first hand shortly

Robert Grafton says:

did you have leaks at all after changing? I don’t currently have leaks in
mine and it only burns 1 quart of oil ever 3k miles and I drive it hard so
it’s normal for a motor with 100k miles (1998 saturn sl 1.9L sohc engine)

Wayne DeWilde says:

Fleetwood Mac – Dreams

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

It’s not mandatory but it can’t hurt. Basically any oil is ok to use IF YOU
STAY ON TOP OF IT. If you do a lot of hard driving or drive in hard
conditions a lot the synthetic will hold up better than the conventional
stuff. =D

JLevoLTE says:

@omarG19100 It is the lower hose closest to the engine, the one on top
closest to you is the high. when you recharge your system the fitting will
only fit on the low.

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@codynb92 You’re welcome. Happy wrenching!

hp11208 says:

synthetic,oil is always better

Guiseppe Falvoa says:

Thanks man, helpd me out 🙂

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@omarG19100 Yikes. I have no clue. AC units are not a strong point at all
for me. Search for richpin06 on youtube. Go to his channel and search for a
video on AC’s.. From there just send him a PM or post directly in the ac
video he may have. Hope this helps out.

telcontara177 says:

Thank you for this video! I changed my own oil once, about two years ago,
under the watchful eyes of my dad and brother. Since then I’ve been in the
thrall of Jiffy Lube, but upon learning that a local store accepts used oil
at no charge, I decided that it was high time I man up (metaphorically) and
do it myself, even though my role models are now a thousand miles away.
Thanks to you, the operation was a success and half the cost of having
someone else do it!

codynb92 says:

thnk u for this. i never could find that filter

MsCybervamp says:

Super smart on the bag part. This is why I get that burn smell afterwards.
That tip alone was worth the vid. Thanks!

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

No problem. I’m the exact same way. It helps a lot to see what the job
entails before diving into it blindly. Happy wrenching!

CCAAASSSCCAAAA says:

@glethal85 Nice to hear. What parts did you feel was hard to see? Maybe I
can go and make an updated version.

socom3hayden says:

does anyone know the song that plays after the intro until about 1:40
before it changes scenes

Omar Chisolm says:

@CAAASSSCCAAAA Oh ok thanks man and HAPPY WRENCHING lol.
