Damn, that’s easy! I use ’em on motherboards all the time.
Now my recently acquired Saturn needs one, so I watched your vid…
Neo Geo Pocket Colors use ’em, too.

I just bought my Saturn a week ago and the battery was already dead on it.
Didn’t know why I couldn’t save or why it kept asking me to set my clock
and I certainly didn’t know what type of battery I needed or how easy it
was to get. Thank you very much sir.

Yea really… when those rechargable ones burns out, you’e pretty much
screwed unless you usually play right next to a place to plug the charger
in. Maybe not now since there are ways to replace the battery, but I don’t
know the price and might be rare to come across in the future…

good times, when portables had AAA/AA batteries instead of rechargeable ones

Project COE says:

Yes on both account. If you want to save data for a long period of time
when the Saturn isn’t being used, I highly recommend you pick up an Action
Replay Plus, which also acts as a RAM cart upgrade and an import device. It
works great. If you need any other details on changing the battery, just
let me know.

Project COE says:

@tendresseak27 As you saw, it takes all of two seconds so even if you have
no fingers and all thumbs, you should be fine. Just remember to unplug the
console first 😉

Project COE says:

@jjalepeno55 …and consoles used batteries to keep your save files. For
all those Saturn owners out there like me, who just so happened to have
lost all their saved data, be sure to back-up your files to a memory cart.
That’s right, cart 😉

Thanks just got my japanese saturn and I noticed the time thing was coming
up every time I booted.. Now I can fix it 🙂

GeneralErlend . says:

Why would some1 dislike this vid? Its a perfectly good vid explaining how
to replace the battery…

Project COE says:

Thank you for the comment 🙂

Project COE says:

Could be. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. Because the BTTF
reference alone is worth the like even if you didn’t find the video
informative. 😛

Project COE says:

Glad you found the video informative. On the behalf of Jarrod (the one in
the video), he will sure be happy that you can go back to playing your
Saturn. 🙂

SpeedySPCFan says:

Thanks! I’ve had my Saturn for nearly a year now so I needed to know how to
replace the battery when the time comes.

5fifthwheel5 says:

Just picked up a Saturn. The internal clock shows up every time, and the
only game I own currently is Virtua Fighter 2. So, it hasn’t been worth it
yet to save anything. You’ve eased my wariness for when I have to change
the battery when my copy of Panzer Dragoon comes in the mail. Also, thanks
for mentioning the battery type in the video and description.

KrGsMrNKusinagi0 says:

Indeed… Confirmed mine didnt even have a battery in it.. Guess they
removed it before shipping it to me.

Padoca85 says:

Maybe the person that disliked the vid didnt like ou understod the bttf
reference…

TheDamned999 says:

cool just got Megaman I think it has a save feature and Panzer Dragoon
Nights etc.

Project COE says:

Thanks. I tried to make the video be as helpful to those looking to change
their Saturn battery as possible. Not sure why anyone would dislike this
either, but thanks for the kind words.

Alistair Inglis says:

Enjoyed your video. I’ve ordered the battery you referred to and I didn’t
realise they ran that cheap. Thanks for uploading your advice.

shaolinskunks88 says:

Does the battery stop saved data being wiped. And if console keeps asking
for language and time settings does this mean battery needs changing? Cheers

Project COE says:

@5fifthwheel5 Not a problem at all. Be sure to check out all the Saturn
reviews I’ve been posting to see if there are a few gems you might want to
take a further look at. As for the battery, it’s super easy to change. Glad
you liked the video. Hope to see you around these parts.

tendresseak27 says:

Awesome, I’ll try not to kill myself doing that also.

Project COE says:

No problem. Glad this helped you out 🙂

Project COE says:

@TheDamned999 Hope you enjoy your games, and all Saturn games feature some
sort of save be it either to save your actual progress or just the high
scores.
