Once again thank you richpin!

LaodiceaMythos says:

1. remove fuel pump fuse ( 0:14 ).
2. start engine and let it run until gas in the system burns off, usually a
few seconds ( 0:51 ).
3. jack up car ( ).
4. unbolt bracket that holds fuel filter ( 1:40 ).
5. Remove old fuel filter by squeezing tabs that lock the hoses to fuel
filter lines ( 2:26 ).
6. place new filter in old bracket ( 3:55 ).
7. mount new filter into place and reconnect hoses ( 4:43 ).

Eric Ver Linden says:

If the fuel filter has never been replaced, will the bolts still break even
after soaking them thoroughly with PB Blaster (Or equivalent)?

Also, is there a tool to use for the clips on the fuel line? Like on my old
Sunfire (Which is also GM), I found a fuel filter removal tool.

Mike Westbrook says:

Richpin,,,im looking for 1 of your videos on rear wheel cylinder for sw1
saturn,,and can it be done without undoing the brakes,,just back them off

pkpatel77 says:

2002, Saturn, 98K, with new fuel pump about 20K ago will not start. Engine
will crank, feels like it is going to start but it gives up in the end.
Checked the spark plug with tester they are working. Put a new one also
changed the high tension cable. Eventhough now i realise that it was not
necessary and seems like problem is related to fuel system. when i put the
engine on ACC, i can hear the fuel pump running. Did that about 5 times to
prime the fuel system and car started with some effort. Since then car has
been starting fine. Only one time it had a minor hiccupp in starting.
Thinking of spending money to change fuel filter but dont want to do it if
it is not necessary. Can EGR valve be a problem here? any advice will be
appreciated..thanks richpin06a and everyone else for their contribution
here..

bon jovi says:

I was always nervous of attemping this rich but now that I’ve seen your
video I’m on my way to tackle with ease. your the best richpin06a. cheers.

Raul Torres says:

Hey Rich… can I jack the car first before letting the gas burn off???

richpin06a says:

@eddie71664 The 97 is in a different location and the filter is different
also.

GloriousCow says:

I wish my 97 was this easy. They put the fuel filter in the most awkward
place ever. And what are those little fasteners they use instead of nuts?
Can’t get a wrench on them properly.

sanitman1 says:

Have not changed!!!!

Joel Rios says:

hey man Thanks a lot for good video, I also need your support, since I have
a saturn SW2 96 MY, well in this car the fuel filter also includes the line
to the motor, have you any video to replace this fuel filter for this model
of saturn, lately my car is not going well so I assume this may be the
problem,, please help.. Joe

James O'Connor says:

I just bought jack stands, and a fuel filter to do this replacement. Thank
you SOOOO much for this video

olseadog says:

Your videos are helping me immensely. Thanks for all.

audiocable says:

i tried to replace mine on my audi, should of took 20 mins, but took 4
hours cause the pin broke inside the quick connect, i had to put a screw in
there and use the teeth on the screw to hook the tip and yank it out, i
noticed my engine ran 10000000 times better after change

Joseph S says:

is it different in a 1997 sl

richpin06a says:

@thisreallysucksbig The two line that are side by side are of two different
sizes so it would be very difficult to not get them in the right place.

richpin06a says:

I do not recommend that filter anymore Napa will have the Saturn one for a
reasonable price.

GraniteBees says:

What about gen 1?

samo sz says:

am number 90 lol , like thumps up

Joseph S says:

Im gonna proly buy a new one its only 13 bucks. Ive tried everything to fix
it and now it kills the battery after i try to start it a few times.
Anything else you would suggest if that doesnt fix the problem.

Jorge M Cisneros says:

what I don’t like is that he is not actually doing it in the car but from
something else pay close attention he is standing up parallel to the fuel
filter.

richpin06a says:

@MrRaiders6769 The first one i did the bolts broke off and i drilled and
taped them.Idle and spark timing seem normal to me.

Julia Nichols says:

So This is exactly what I need to do. One complication though. When we were
putting it on the trailer to bring it home, the fuel filter managed to
catch (my in laws trailer and really short ramps) and rip out. Lines are in
tact. The front actually pulled out of the filter and the bracket broke. So
I am going to try it again. Great video.

hp11208 says:

Did you crank it over so the gas would drain out the line Rich

richpin06a says:

The smoking lamp is out!

josh patterson says:

I went the college route, have a high IQ, etc. Ironically, the smartest
people I know are mechanics. One of them had offers to Stanford, and
Harvard when he graduated high school.

thomas hobbs says:

p0341 Camshaft Position Sensor Circut Range/Performance

thomas hobbs says:

so no why it could be the crank shaft sensor. only dos it when it is hot
and i have i been driving for a long time. any thing else you could think
it could be jest so i can cover all basis

iluvbogs says:

Hi, a question, If I can’t find the fuse to the fuel pump would
disconnecting the battery be the same? I have never change a fuel filter
before. Also, after you install the filter, you just replaced the fuse and
you were done?

Joseph S says:

so i put a new one in the old one was cracked bad. it actually starts, but
doesnt want to go now, but when i stop it shuts off. i have replace plugs
wires tps sensor iac sensor o2 sensor downstream. any ideas on what it
could be

wraywrey2004 says:

do you have a fuel filter replacement for the Toyota Corolla?

jeffreycor says:

Great video! Only issue is you mention nothing of how to remove the quick
connect clips from the old filter and put them on the new if you are using
a WIX filter instead of an OEM. Instruction on this as part of the process
would be extreamly useful.

Eric Disharm says:

I’m thinking about changing out my filter(55k miles- too soon?) I was
wondering why you bothers unbolting the mount at all? Couldn’t you slide it
out without removing the mount?
