How would removing the passenger side fender on a 2001 Saturn SC2 be
different from this video? Does the tire and wheel well cover need to be
removed? I have purchased the replacement fender and was about to embark on
this project, but I’m having difficulty figuring out how to get to the two
lowermost bolts which are underneath the rocker panel. It almost feels like
I’ll need to take the whole car apart to replace the fender (not to
mention, the rocker panel is where the jack goes)! Ideas?

AgntColtron47 says:

Good background song. TOOL.

Henry Lavigne says:

Make that one fender and the bumper cover.

Hinotsuj says:

Ok, cool. Thanks Richpin. I appreciate it.

richpin06a says:

The Contour is different.

Hinotsuj says:

Would this be the same method for a ’98 Ford Contour?

kosmosleha says:

I’ve just removed and put back my fender. A few screws left, but hey …
that’s a rule.

psyduck731 says:

id love to know the name of that second song playing in the background

henryhenderson13 says:

expirementing on my own car

Dustin Brunner says:

Can i change a 02 impalas quarter panel basicly the same way?

john uboy says:

Christopher Lively says:

Thanks for the information had my first wreck Jan 3 of 2013 estimate was
$2100 i’m gonna fix it for about $200 with a pre painted fender from d and
h autoparts

Brendan Marchione says:

Saturns are made primarly of plastic, so these are infact very light and
small, get something bigger like a crown vic or Ford Explorer, yea it’ll be
pretty heavy 🙂

nightmathzombieethan says:

@holland155 LMAO “Reward sex” Must be nice! Being single all I get for
working on my car is a reward “yank”. LOL

spencer1984.com says:

I just removed the fender of my coupe, and there is a slight difference
between the SC1/SC2 and the SL/SW shown in the video: there is one more 7mm
bolt on the underside of the bumper skin, and the rocker panel is not
flexible enough to push out of the way. For the rocker, you’ll need to
remove all of the pins on the underside as well as the bottom one in the
rear wheel well, then open the door, slide the rocker forward, and pull the
rocker off.

jimi748 says:

nice karma police in the back ground

richpin06a says:

@SimonCowellAI I am glad you like them

henryhenderson13 says:

i like this video it helps alot.. i have never removed a fender before but
i have to replace my drivers side fender due to hit and run… i like
working on cars but i want to ask if i should replace this myself or should
i pay to have it done?.. i have a jack to lift it up and i have all the
tools but i dont have the gun witch would be helpful.. should i do it
myself? i have a 98 buick park avenue ultra.. and do you know how much it
would cost to have this done?

kosmosleha says:

@richpin06a 🙂 I don’t know. Can’t think of where they came from 🙂 Seems
like everything is on place. oh well.

RMena64 says:

are fenders usually that light or small? I would of thought that they werre
real heavy being that my tires always rub and slam up on it.

Dave Landis says:

Thanks for this, going to try and replace mine myself, after a tire blowout
tore mine off and the estimate I got was 1700. What is the name for that
bracket holding the side of the bumper to the frame?

JoelXFRS says:

Very good way to teach people how to do a great job… Thanks Rich~

zues9mm says:

Is a 2000 model going to be about that same?

geoh7777 says:

Outstanding.

tat2dpibble says:

how do you get the bottom cover off ? no power tools here, can’t get to the
bolts just by bending it down.

poopinglogs says:

How about a video on a 1st gen Saturn upper front bumper cover removal
video? C’mon u can do it!

wolfie965 says:

Ahh ok, if i remember right the gen1 body is the 95 and previous? i had a
low speed collision the other day and my front driver fender is pushed in a
bit so i wanna loosen things up and get them back into proper position.

richpin06a says:

@ef2b Every time i go to the junk yard i pick up spares i now have enough
to last me for the end of time….lol

richpin06a says:

@psyduck731 I am not very good at naming songs myself

robusto2000 says:

Rich: Thanks again for the support you provide! You helped me with a motor
mount, a starter and now with two fenders! Again, thanks! Al

richpin06a says:

@henryhenderson13 What i do when i take a part off of vehicle that i am not
sure how to remove the part i go to the local pull the part your self
wrecking yard and experiment taking that one off.

wolfie965 says:

rich, is the removal mostly the same for the gen1 body?

Chris Buckshaw says:

I have a 99 pontiac sunfire. Is this pretty much the same process as the
saturn? I think they are very similar if not exactly the same…

richpin06a says:

@kosmosleha What do you do with the leftovers…..lol

Miguel Tercero says:

what’s the tool to remove the pushpins, call

holland155 says:

My girlfriend was quoted $800 to fix fender, watched ” richpin06a” said I
will do it myself. Searched local junk yards LOTS of Saturns, but not same
color. To repaint in LOCAL body shop would cost 1 or 2 hundred. Put “Wanted
Ad ” on Craigs list Auto, found guy 45 mi away who pulled one for me same
color ,$40! Power lock went bad, went to junk yard, I replaced it in 5 Min!
Now I even LOOK better to her. THANKS TO YOU RICHPIN, 06a I am a
hero..reward sex is good!

richpin06a says:

Not the quarter panel but front fenders are similar.

wolfie965 says:

thats what i thought thanks 🙂

Kelly Beard says:

Thanks again Rich for a great video. I banged up my passenger side fender
this morning in a snow-related accident. I’m already shopping for a fender
but am wondering if I’ll be able to find a plastic one? The only ones I’ve
found so far are primered steel.

Onetuth says:

Thanks richpin06a! Very easy to understand and follow you through the
steps! Well done!

hnkfsh81 says:

This video was very helpful. I replaced one front bumper and the bumper
cover with parts from an auto wrecker. The tough part was replacing the
crumpled fender brace that resides under the fender due to the metal
rivets. Thanks Rich!

psyduck731 says:

@jimi748 whats the name of the song they played after that
