ΔV: Rings of Saturn (Delta V) | Gameplay Part 15 – The Microwave Emitter

ΔV: Rings of Saturn (Delta V) is the new game we are looking at today with an Overview/Review of what it is and how its gameplay plays. First we will review the need to know basics of ΔV: Rings of Saturn (Delta V) before jumping into deeper gameplay impressions. A physics-based mining sim, set in the thickest debris field in Sol. Every action has a reaction, lasers are invisible without a medium, and your thrust is a potent weapon. Find trade, adapt your equipment to your playstyle, hire a crew to help. Unravel the mysteries of the rings, or just get rich.

Deniz Ultanur says:

The salary of the crew don't go up as they level up so leveling up a low level crew is much cheaper than getting the best guys. Takes a long time but very much cheaper.
I use a rail gun + microwave to mine. Micro is great as things don't tend to shoot away as much and I use the railgun to shoot things out of my way when in trouble. Otherwise leave it off and conserve ammo.

Turn of blom in the settings

Kelvin coolidge says:

Your mining ship uses a turbine to convert the thermal energy of the reactor into electrical energy to turn the turbine it uses reaction mass heated by the reactor

Dustin Lang says:

I have found the manipulator arm and an offset mining laser works well for me, since you can gently go back and forth and burn up the rocks (with proper tuning and power). Love watching you experiment around as it's brought ideas to me that I've never though of. One thing to note as well, mining lasers have VERY long range (8km or so), so you can reach out and blast a lot of rocks… and also potentially cause fights too!

I'm personally unsure about the hauler drones though, my experience with them has been, frustrating, to say the least. Though I was likely not using them correctly.

Kelvin coolidge says:

Sad that you can’t play the market it would be cool if it was manipulatable

TheHuffur says:

Try to remember to take a look in the Tuning options when you are in station, especially when you equip new stuff.

Microwaves can be tuned both for higher power as well as its frequency, push the water frequency to 90% and it will melt asteroids much faster but be worse against ships(but you do not want to be fighting with a microwave anyway and it will still EMP them).

Similarly kinetic tools can tune how powerful they are which is also a trade off with combat and ease of breaking large asteroids but a high powered shot will also be much more likely to send the ore, especially light weight high value BE ore, flying away at escape velocities.

Its also in the tuning options where you can turn off the LIDAR beeps if you think they are annoying!

Blu76 says:

I'm not a fan of the microwaves short range, around 600 meters. However I have used a ship utilizing 2 at once before and it did alright. You can adjust the power and frequency of the microwave in tuning to almost double its power which makes it melt faster. However the trade off is less penetration, which makes it less effective versus hostile ships.
On the astrographer tab you can filter minerals for drones, mining companions, etc and also a value limit. Like telling them only go after ores worth 2k or more and avoid iron and water or whatever. Especially when you start using the tug and haul drones that's handy because those drones use an ammo type as well, the nanodrone components

Jason Miller says:

I picked up the point defence microwave and the tug drones, literally life changing. Auto aim, auto shoot, and stop movement, yes please!

The Monk says:

Made some good bank this episode, The mining lasers are fun to use.
