IMPORTANT EDIT 1: on DIESEL cars press the BRAKE pedal during this procedure
IMPORTANT EDIT 2: if you wish to reset the service counter BEFORE it has generated the “time for service” message on 07+ cars, then this can ONLY be done using Tech2.
Personally I never use the service indicator anyway. These cars are prone to all sorts of “ills” if service intervals are “stretched”.
Most Saabistas recommend oil changes at 5,000 mile intervals

Thanks. Very helpful. A side note: if your battery was disconnected during service, you need to set the date to be able to reset service counter. Found that out today
What is the mileage counter in the bottom right of the SID? Does that also reset with this service reset? Mine is around 3k now and I've just changed oil so would like to reset it to keep track of oil changes easier

On diesel, press the brake pedal while doing this otherwise it won't work !

You can only reset it when the light comes on, correct? If no message you can’t reset it, right?
