As far as i know, no. The color temp comes from the gasses and salts in the bulb. Not the ballast. What matters is the watt rating on the bulb. 55w bulbs need the corresponding ballast. Same with 35. For instance, a 4300k 55w bulb on a 35w ballast won’t give you the pure white. It’ll be more of a light blue. So just make sure you get the right wattage on the bulb. Hope this helps
