Just keep an eye on how full it is and remove any you might overflow, place some rags around if you think it’s going to spill, nothing crazy here, just go slow and careful if you think it might be too full.

It worked great, thanks! But I had one problem, because I loosened the cap on the master cylinder reservoir before I started, when it came to point of moving the piston back to make room for the new pads, I used a “C” clamp with the old pad as a push bar, the fluid overflowed onto the ground. Any tips?

Great tip, thanks for contributing.

I would like to add to this if you don’t mind. Make sure to loosen the emergency brake pad prior to trying to take off the rotor. Even with my handle down, I thought it was the rust that was holding the rotor back. In reality it was the emergency brake pad.

You can adjust the emergency brake pad by spinning the rotor until you see the gear adjustor. Take a narrow and long flat head screwdriver and flip it down to loosen the pad even more. This will save you some time.

FCP Euro says:

First off make sure the parking brake is disengaged and your locating pin on the face of the rotor is removed (if you have one). Second, you’re right to try some PB blaster, but overnight might be overkill, 30-60 minutes should suffice, after that get yourself a small sledge hammer, and crack that baby over the hat of the rotor, if it doesn’t come off, get yourself a bigger hammer.

MrMrhands1 says:

Thank you. Any tips if the rotors are stuck? You make it look very easy. haha. I’m thinking about spraying PB Blaster overnight prior to the job in the morning.

FCP Euro says:

You’ll want to make sure it’s disengaged before removing the rotor but you don’t have to remove it unless you want to replace it. Hope that helps.

MrMrhands1 says:

What about the emergency brake? That’s what I’m very cautious about. Did you have to remove that?

Arie Salim says:

This is awesome…..I will attempt this myself …(oh God don’t let anything go wrong)

bigz fart says:

this may be a stupid question buuut, would this be the same process as replacing the front brakes? im going to try and attempt this myself, and i just want to make sure.

FCP Euro says:

I believe it’s almost identical, you’ll just want to verify your rear brake rotor style before purchsing. Give us a call if you have any questions: 1-860-388-9001
