On the 9-5 the cupholder is screwed onto the dash facia with two torx screws. If you remove the radio and radio cage you can remove it without having to remove the entire facia. It’s not easy, but not difficult.

Any idea how to remove the cup holder?

Hey the SID in my Viggen is all pixelated and i just want it black. Is there a fuse I can remove to turn it off? If not what’s the easiest way?

Hi yi

Have a dash removal question for my 2004 9-3 Aero and would like to submit a quick video to show you what i would like to accomplish. Got a disposible email address i can forward this to you?

Nathandm78 says:

Hello Canada! You can easily remove the climate control unit by inserting a butter knife into the bottom portion of the unit and gently prying up and out on the unit. Work your way from side to side. Don’t use a screwdriver or else you’ll mar the plastic finish. I have to fix the CCU display in my 2001 9-5, which is probably similar to a 9-3. Stay tuned for a video tomorrow afternoon. -From Texas.

Greetings from Canada. I’ve got a pixel issue with the climate control unit in my 99 convertible and unlike the positioning of your dashboard, my CCU sits separately below the SID and radio. Do you think the CCU unit can be easily removed with a knife or do i have to remove the panel from either the driver’s side or passenger’s to gain access? This question is widely asked but not answered. Your thoughts, please.

Nathandm78 says:

My sister has a 2004. Be on the lookout for a new video covering that this weekend!

idratherbegolfing Ann says:

It’s a 2004

Nathandm78 says:

Hello. What year is it? The only 9-3’s we have are the newer 2003+. On that model you’d have to remove the rear brake light, lower the rear headlight a little bit to access the securing nut and tighten it.

idratherbegolfing Ann says:

Back again….the base of the roof antenna on my 9-3 Aero is wobbly, is there an easy way to access and tighten it?

Nathandm78 says:

Thanks for the support! I appreciate it! =D Glad I could help!

idratherbegolfing Ann says:

Excellent; mystery solved! I was afraid it involved ripping the dashboard apart.

Keep up the great work, it is sincerely appreciated!!!

Nathandm78 says:

Thanks! You would have to find the correct SID unit for your car. The 9-5 went through 4 different versions. One version for all ’98-’01 model years. One version for 2002. One version for 2003. And one version for ’04-’05 model years. They may look the same, but they are not interchangeable, and doing so will cause several errors, as one of my videos demonstrates.

I sometimes use Stoner’s brand Trim Shine, or Lemon Pledge. Wiped with a microfiber towel till it’s not glossy or greasy.

Very great, two questions. If i was to buy a new SID because my SID’s pixels are broken. Would i have to get a certain one? or would my car recognize it as any other SID… and what do you use to polish the wood grain? and make the dash/wheel shiny and very new looking like yours. thanks amazing channel!
