Paint them green. Like Saabs green theme.

Ethan keenan says:

I used a mini crowbar to push piston back like u did with the screw driver easiest way by far

DERRYL says:

Hi, I watched your video very often. I live in the Netherlands but I would like to order exactly the parts you replaced in this video. Can you sent me the art. Nr. Hope to hear from you soon. May be it is a tip to always put a link on the arts you use in every video. Lol…
Bye

So what is differentiator on the rear rotors? I ran my VIN through eSaab, and for my 07 9-5 Sportcombi it said my rears were 286mm. What makes yours 300?

Tom Spencer says:

Great information. Only caveat for a vehicle this age/mileage with brake job is that the fluid needs a complete flush. Thanks for doing this. Nice car.

MassiveTrackHunter says:

300mm rear rotors are actually pretty good size, compared to NG9-3's.

Ghcat7 says:

You should consider changing the brake lines to stainless steel braided lines – the old lines tend to bulge a little over time, reducing the feel and consistency of braking. I changed mine about 6 months ago (it is 6 lines and relatively simple) and makes an enormous differnce. Good channel – thanks for the content.

The powerstop kit is awesome I have them on my mustang 10/10.

DAI says:

Turn the steering wheel when you are about to loosen the caliper brackets, then you are gona be able to use a longer breaker bar!

Adrian Herbert says:

and don't forget to change the brake fluid on a reasonable basis. I suspect with brakes as shot as those, job worth considering 🙂

Fabbemark says:

Hey! I have a 2007 9-3 b284 and I am looking for a vacuum sensor. Not the sensor for the turbo but the one that's located at the top left in the engine bay. But I can't find it anywhere! So I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on one?

AnotherSaabStory says:

Always nice having new brakes. But why did you not put some kind of anti-seize on the pad-"ears" that the pads move in the bracket on? That's super important to keep the pads moving nicely in the bracket… Some of that anti-squeal or just grease would be sufficient. Now they can/will seize up.

Also a trick for the rear suspension so you can get an impact on all of the bolts: Undo the big 21mm bolt on the strut with an impact, then you can just push the strut out of the way and use the impact for the rest of the bolts too.

Hello, I own a Saab full package car and I cannot connect the bluetooth to it. Please help and thank you. Note that I have the icm3 stereo

Travis Watson says:

Two things I would add to the video, since I started doing my 9-5 brakes this morning.
1: order new set screws that hold the rotors in place. They are very easy to strip especially if the last guy to work on the cat torqued them down.
2: bleed your brakes after you changed them. I didn't think mine needed it, but I bled them just a little bit and the fluid came out almost black and a little milky looking.
Need to do a full fluid flush next week when rockauto sends me the other rear rotor they forgot to ship to me lol
Also, just realized we bought the exact same rotors and pads.

thingsErik says:

Did your calipers say GM on them like mine? Couldn't tell.

Peter Jackson says:

And YES, a restore build is a legitimate “build,” especially a “stock +” build like you mentioned in a recent video about this car. Stock + stays within the engineering spec of the vehicle but makes it better. It’s practical and economical. I swear, when I heard you say it it brought a tear of joy to my eye LOL

Peter Jackson says:

Did you get a new camera or something? The video quality of this vid is excellent, better than the ads LOL, but maybe it’s just me.

For the calipers I say go with lemon yellow. Not neon yellow, but a pale yellow 🙂

Alan Funt says:

Did the same thing on my '01 wagon and made a huge difference, although 9-5 brakes are "average" at best. Do yourself a favor and flush out the lines and replace the brake fluid, this made a huge diffence in pedal feel on mine.

googlefreeze says:

This video is incredibly timely. I literally just received my shipment of rotors and pads earlier today for my just bought 04 9-5. Love the channel and appreciate all the work and effort you put in. You are absolutely a part of the reason I purchased my first Saab. Keep it up!

cinrambrad says:

What was that compression tool that you used ? I can't walk into Harbor Freight and say I need a "thing"

SCREW IT! says:

Red calipers add 50 HP. It's confirmed 😉

RADThird1 says:

Oh and since you aren't up-grading the brakes I'd just use silver.

RADThird1 says:

Ah…low dust pads. How I wish that I had specified those when I had the brakes done last summer. Instead I got pads made by ATE that are the worst set I've ever had on any car for dust. I literally must wipe my wheels down every couple of days to hold down the dust build-up! word to the wise DO NOT let your mechanic put ATE pads on your car! Ask what he will be using! I'm still contemplating having them changed out 'cause that's how much of a pain in the a#@ these are.

D Lew says:

This upload is clutch! Doing the same next week. Nice video as always

K Edwards says:

Nice! How do the new brakes feel?

Bert C says:

Great vid. You really inspire Saab owners to keep them going.
