Project Anders – Saab 9-5 Hirsch Stainless Steel Exhaust Install

Project Anders – Saab 9-5 Hirsch Stainless Steel Exhaust Install

Sup internet ? We are Bizarre Horse Power and this is Anders the 9-5 that can.

We are giving this car a total new lease of life and bringing it into the 21st century with a BHP target of 300 Bizarre Horses!!!! it’s going to be hot, sweaty, and far less than sexy.

This time Alec, Ed, and I are installing the full Hirsch 3″ exhaust on Anders the Saab 9-5 Aero. This exhaust will lay the ground work for us to push Anders into the 300BHP club.

Really nice car.

What is the smoke about just after revving?

I got the same.
I heard some ticking noise aswell. So I decided to retorque the head bolts.
Now my smoke is gone and it sounds really superb.
Engine runs like new.

My number 10 head bolt was loose. Even with 40Nm it was turning omg.

All bolts were torqued different.
So hopefully its good now.

The number 10 head bolt on my 2.0 16v turbo 185hp is always an isue. It comes loose over time. The strange thing is that the number 10 bolt felt like less resistance to torque. Strange.

i just loosened each head bolt in the correct fastening sequence and got it on 60NM and after 90degrees turn. Sometimes I got it over 120Nm with the extra 90 degree spin. then the no 10 was a lot less then the no 8 bolt
Felt like it was 90Nm instead. Perhaps that is enough tough.
But since the no 10 bolt comes loose in all Saab engines and you get to burn some coolant that is rediculous.

So more power means also your headbolts will get stretched somewhat more.
The chance of getting some coolant inside the engine is more obvious.

My opinion with these cars is they were bought by people with money because they were not cheap.

Not your typical racing people.
Thats why the engines last long.

But once in the hands of a boy racer the life span is not as high anymore.

Therefore I have to say I try to drive normal without a lot of boosting.

Ahem if I can manage because the kick down is sweet. Hehe

Tony Bailey says:

All you need now is a 3.5 bar fuel pressure regulator and a stage 3 remap . Google Noobtune , Karl will tranform it . My 9-5 Aero also has a 3" downpipe but a maptun free flow cat back and i'm running 295bhp and 450nm torque. It's a whole different animal !

Pierre Colombo says:

Aah I was searching a guy who is working on a saab project, finally I found one haha 🙂 !
Whats the next step ?

aeneis116 says:

Trionic Seven says:

Nice vid as always. If you want you could publish your vids on the trionic seven channel, that way you'll reach a much larger audience 🙂

Anders Næss says:

I use the same exhaust from the cat, and 3" MapTun in front. Much better sound with 3" DP! 🙂
