Thanks. That’s what I wasn’t doing correctly, not using leverage. I’m not
replacing the radio, but trying to get the code for it and need the serial
# to do that, so need to remove the radio. (:

How did you get the stock radio out of the dash? I have a ’91 900S and
tried using the DIN tools but when I pulled out the radio wouldn’t come
out.

As you pull the radio out from the dash, you have to also leverage the
U-shaped DIN tools away from the centerline of the radio — basically
pulling away and out at the same time, if that helps. The tool catches the
tabs inside so it slides out. Once the radio is out, the cage the radio was
in, then also pulls out. Take a couple of small flat-head screwdrivers and
pry around the edges of the cage in the dash opening and should come right
out.

Bought it at a junk yard about 10 years ago and have been storing it ever
since.
